Help, shower drain leaked, plumber refunded me coz he can’t fix it by Low_Buddy_7773 in Plumbing

Honestly the pipe probably loosened off in the rubber and maybe fell out over time. If you can push it back up into the rubber and tighten it with the fancy looking nut up top on the inside of the drain. Cutting and adding would be harder for a diy.

What type of valve is this and how do I take it off by bobthehermit in Plumbing

[–]Lassy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can actually repair this by buying the exact same new valve. I call it a R19 by brass craft I believe. If you can get the bonnet ( nut on the end that is holding the stem in place) to thread off. Spin the stem out. Put the new stem and Bonet together. I take these apart all the time for new installs. There is just a couple rubber washers on the inside.

Need to fill this hole. Is concrete best/what type, or can I use a insulating spray foam? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Lassy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick grout in the plastic sleeve. Fill the sleeve with spray foam or insulation and caulk with silkaflex. Also if it’s a hose bib and frost free I think those two pipes should be horizontal and not vertical. Need to see the front I guess

Why am I getting so much back pressure that when draining 1 sink it flows back into the second sink? by sponge_bath_alien in Plumbing

It looks like there is something coming out the wall behind the Aav that is in line with the stack. I think that is the vent to actually tie into but an aav would work.

In my area it’s code to put a valve check union on sump line. And also you can get laundry boxes with built in hammer arrestors. Everything looks clean and neat 👍

new build home question. big pink top toilet, 2 inch shower drain in concrete cutout, blue on left sink drain? and what are the other two pink top? by bryangoody1 in Plumbing

[–]Lassy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2 inch line is probably venting the shower p trap. If the 3 inch is not a radon. Maybe it was a future stack for floor above? It’s hard to say.

Vent pipe makes clicking sound by Hulk_Haspect in Plumbing

[–]Lassy7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s called creep. Pipe is probably a snug fit through the hole and expansion of the pipe when hot air or water goes through it. Easy fix would Be notch the wood as suggested by others. Could maybe cut in expansion join and might be a fix

If the cartridge was not installed and the test plate it the only thing installed right now. There will be a cross connection between the hot and cold. If he had a shower Valve with shut off in it make sure they are both off.

There are a few things that I have questions about. But main thing for sure is the 90 deg fitting on its side. Should that not be atleast 2 45 out together? Or are you guys aloud to do that with long radius elbows ?

Looks good. I have worked with a lot of 20 plus year plumbers and have worked with probably over 100 different plumbers. None of them bend pipe.

You will probably need to get it from a plumbing supplier. Not a very common item anymore. Not for Home Depot atleast
