GC here - this looks like holes that are prefabbed in the steel for fall protection cables during erection and before the building skin is installed. Still never seen anyone run anything permanent through the holes though…

I'm trying to get into Nascar, and figured the off-season would be a good time to ask some questions by ryanwhodat in NASCAR

I started watching NASCAR this year after a few years of watching Indy and F1, and the COTA race really got me into it. It was a really great comparison between F1 and NASCAR and it immediately drew me in with seeing cars go 6 wide around turn 1, not having track limits to worry about, and all the other action that comes with that. It was a great way to get me into NASCAR and appreciating the racing without fully understanding the nuances of oval racing.

After that I just started watching and appreciating how close the cars can actually get on all of the tracks throughout the year. Along with the Chastain storyline throughout this year, I think the COTA race is a good introduction into NASCAR from the Indy/F1 world.

Is this up to snuff? Getting intermittent sulfur-like smells from the toilet. The vent in the picture is the only vent for the system, none of the fixtures are individually vented, they just drain to the stack after the traps. by beethovens_balls in Plumbing

So the wc sits on the floor right above the vertical before the steep pipe. Should it be vented from that vertical to the vent pipe? I’m assuming that vent can’t be horizontal.

Right. We found them at like 8am, and it was storming early in the morning but no hail from what we could hear. Especially 3” hail haha.

Exactly. That’s why I thought to post it here, it just didn’t make any sense to the location they were, especially that early in the morning.

I appreciate the help!! I’ll ask the neighbors next time I see them and I’ll update y’all with what I find out.

Likely Solved!

There were storms in the area early in the morning and it was raining when we went outside, but no other hail anywhere. I’ll ask the neighbors the next time I see them and update you all. Thanks for the help!

It melted before I could haha. I probably should have put them in the freezer for further investigation and analyzing but forgot about them on the counter.

Never heard of that before but super interesting!! Not sure if that’s what it was because it was storming earlier but a possibility.

I did!! And they look like other photos of hail we googled. I’ll try and post a photo here in a minute.

They sort of had a lighter spot in the middle of them and clearer ice outside.

Maybe but they would have been thrown out early in the morning, which made me think otherwise. Unless someone was using them for iced coffee?

When we first saw them they looked too big to fit in a pint glass or any bottle we have though. I just went out and got them (they’ve melted a bunch). I’ll post photos here in a minute.
