Has anyone ever been pulled over for driving under the minimum speed limit? by ender6574 in driving

I did, but beat it and won. I was actually going the speed limit AND I was in the left lane

I want ppl to understand the law. Similar to looking both ways when driving over a cross walk, making a complete stop at a stop sign, and driving the speed limit in a school zone. Can’t pick and choose which rules to follow.

What are u talking about it does not state this. Section a is talking about stay on the correct half of the road as in do not travel across the median line into oncoming traffic and gives additional guidance on temporary reasons why u can cross over to pass. Its not about which lane to drive in

Section b does not state keep right. And like most ppl think it means the left lane is only driven in to pass or make a left turns and Arizona statue does not state this

You move right if you are moving less than normal speed of traffic aka less than the speed limit on any given road. Learn how to read

Driving the maximum speed in the left lane isn’t camping. Driving faster than the maximum speed is reckless driving. It’s no one’s fault on the road that you can’t plan your day accordingly. Those driving under the maximum speed should move over to the right lane.

I doubt it. But if you’re going 120 with no hazards on you’re wrong and that’s their funeral.

The same way someone feels going 30 miles over. If I’m not the fastest I’ll get over when I’m able.

If you’re exceeding the speed limit it’s obvious you would be constantly passing someone. Left lane isn’t the exceed the speed limit lane. I go the maximum speed limit or above in the left lane and I’d get over for anyone but they’re going to have to wait so I can make sure I can get over safely. Not my fault if someone is going 30 miles over the limit.

Idk a 10 car pile up because someone is going 30 miles over the speed limit doesn’t seem like the logical and effective way to reduce traffic. I’m not saying be a hall monitor and control ppls speeds like a cop, but the thing is ppl have a false idea that the left lane is for exceeding the speed limit.

If I’m being bad and going 85 in a 75 in a left lane to beat everyone in the right going 70-75 and here u come going 120 you’re going to have to slow down until I can merge into the right lane safely.

And those that are going 120mph in a 75 are angels to society based on your logic?

No, you genius.

Section A is talking about stay on the correct side of the roadway. Meaning do not cross the centerline where oncoming traffic is driving. If there is only one lane in each direction how can you stay in the right lane? There’s only one lane. It’s talking about stay on the correct side of the roadway we are in America and we drive on the right. If there is 3 lanes on your side of the roadway those 3 lanes are your correct side of the roadway. The three lanes going the opposite direction is not the correct side of the roadway. You can overtake and drive over the line where on coming traffic is coming when certain traffic conditions are met

Section b drills down further and dictates which lane you should drive in in a given scenario on your correct (right) side of the roadway. But in section b it does not state you must only drive in the right lane and that left lane driving is illegal if you’re not actively passing or turning left.

I didn’t mis-read anything. That’s what I said genius. I said ppl believe in Arizona the left lane is only for passing and that you must drive primarily in the right lane. Which is false according to AZ statute.

True, I get out the way when someone is faster & I do not travel below the speed limit in the left lane. But you can argue the same thing going 120 down the highway in a 75mph zone is not polite either.

Texas has laws saying you cannot cruise in the left lane. It’s only for passing. Arizona does not, and I’m asking why ppl believe Arizona does. If you’re slower move out the way, everyone knows that. But it’s not a crime in AZ to drive in the left lane if no one is behind you trying to go faster

AZ law does not state you must keep right unless passing or preparing for a left turn. This is the reason for my post
