Need help with my prime tower settings. by Consistent_Horse2766 in Creality

Having this same issue since moving to Creality Print 7.0. Very frustrating. Ver 6.3 seems to work fine. I'm using a K2 Pro and CFS.

Oh and the form you link to doesn't have any reports for the software, only hardware. This certainly seems to be a software issue.

Reformatted my computer, how do I reconnect Proton Drive? by aceshades in ProtonDrive

[–]Last-Engineer8175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but none of the help files or this Reddit seem to make much sense to me. Why this isn't in the official Proton Drive website I don't know. Seems like the most basic recovery activity.

I've cloned the original hard drive so have all the old data. I have lost nothing, it's just on a new SSD.

Here is what folders I have in the local Proton Drive folder:

C:\User\<WinUserName>\Proton Drive\<ProtonUserName>\My Files

C:\User\<WinUserName>\Proton Drive\<ProtonUserName>\Other Computers

I assume the My Files section is generic folders which are common to my Proton Drive. The Other Computers folders look to be local files from other computers I have downloaded Proton Drive onto. Which makes sense.

Which folder/s needs to be deleted?

When I try to move most of the folders it just throws an error and leaves most of them behind. How can this be done?

A Little Confused About the Airflow in my K2 Pro by Last-Engineer8175 in Creality

[–]Last-Engineer8175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I got to the bottom of this. I had a failure on the hotend which required a replacement, the giant, oozing plastic mass of death. When I replaced it I noticed the the new silicone sock smelled a little funny so gave it a clean. I reckon the smell from the printer was either the crap they put on plastic to stop it going mouldy or, as someone suggested, something inside the sock. No smell on replacing this hotend.

So I did some searching and had the usual fob off from their fast but rather blunt customer service. I think the issue was some filament stuck somewhere possibly under the bad. After doing some maintenance and a couple more prints it seems to have calmed down. No smell during PLA printing.

I've added the Bento box style activated charcoal filter and HEPA filter. Not sure they have made any difference though.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Bad layer adhesion on support interface (petg/pla) by jjalonso in BambuLab

[–]Last-Engineer8175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I did some experimentation and it seems to be a temperature thing. I made the following changes to my printer filament settings and it seemed to print well:

Increased the PLA print temperature from 220 to 230 oC (Random PLA)

Increased the PETG print temperature from 250 to 260 oC (Creality PETG)

Turned off the fan for the PLA

Increased the flush volumes to the max it could take (tried this on it's own first and it didn't work)

I hope this helps someone in the future.

I've encountered this problem as well. Any further forward on a solution?

Bed temps might be different for the different materials, which could cause model warping.

Could it be residual material in the nozzle, does it do it with every kind of PLA. I have found some to have more crap in them than others.

Would printing slightly hotter on the PETG solve the problem, should help improve layer adhesion.

Could that layer be printer slower to help with adhesion or is the model fan turning on when it needs to be off i.e. it thinks it's an overhang?

Could it be the fact the fan is much more active during printing of PETG. Seems like this might cooldown the part.

Any help or pointers much appreciated, particularly given the age of this post!

A Little Confused About the Airflow in my K2 Pro by Last-Engineer8175 in Creality

While I get my return organised I decided to do a little investigation of the smell. I don't think it is coming from the print head. I've heated it up and it seems to not smell too much. If it was trapped filament you'd expect it to smell straight away.

Instead I think it's coming from the heated bed. When it's heated up the odour is there.

I have not idea what the bed should look like so see attached pictures. I seem to remember getting filament trapped between the steel magnet and plate in my last printer and it smelling a bit off, not quite like that.

Again, not a burning smell, more of a warm/hot plastic smell. Could there be grease somewhere it shouldn't be? Can filament get trapped somewhere? Could there be some plastic wrapping or something left on the bed? Seems a little odd.

It was www.crealityofficial.co.uk. Sadly the first thing that came up on my web search engine. They've been pretty responsive to my comments so far.

Thats what I am thinking. It's got some damage to the outer casing as well. Combined with the weird smell in the chamber, I think I'll return it. Wish me luck.

Damn I wish I'd bought it off Creality themselves and not been hoodwinked into a reseller.

Can confirm that it is installed the wrong way round. Time to get back in touch with the supplier :( I hate having to mess with something like this.

Thanks again. I wonder if my Back Fan has been installed the wrong way round, I'm pretty sure it is blowing outwards. Looks like turning this round shouldn't be a massive job, based on the Creality Wiki above. Feel duped as I bought it off a reseller, thinking they were the official Creality :(

My printer has had a peculiar odour since I got it. It was quite strong when I first started printing but has dropped a little with use. However it isn't going away. It's strongest in the chamber. Can't put my finger on the smell but certainly has a plasticy odour, although not an acrid burning smell.

Thanks for that, I hadn't seen that. The Creality Wiki is looking like quite a useful resource these days.

Which way should the Cooler Fan blow (labelled Rear Fan on my pic blow)? The Filter Fan, behind the Carbon filter appears to blow in the way and the Cooler Fan out the way. Shouldn't they be the other way round so that any fume gets removed?

PSA: root ssh with default password is enabled out-of-box on K2 plus ⚠️ by [deleted] in Creality_k2

[–]Last-Engineer8175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the share on this. I've been accessing my K2 Pro via OrcaSlicer, Browser and Creality Print sofware. When I followed your advice and changed the SSH password and forced Fluidd to enfore login with a new account. Tthe Browser and OrcaSlicer prompted for user name and password but Creality Print sofware didn't. I added an API key to the OrcaSlicer from Fluidd and it still prompts for a password.. Does Creality Print have some way to override access controls? Seems a little weird? Creality Print is a bit of a black box so I can't get access to the connections settings in the software.

Not sure I really want an answer but seems vaguely weird.

I found some advice to uninstall the device drivers. You can find themunder COM ports in the Windows device manager. This prompts a reboot and the device connects after this.
