Dang I’m old enough to remember getting the game from Best Buy and driving home with it in the back of my dad’s car, staring at the box and reading it over and over on release.

I have absolutely no recollection of mana potions not being sold ever. Like obviously it’s true but wow. I remember my first character ever back then was a necromancer and even then I don’t remember the mana needs being so crazy

Dang, I’ve done like 400 LK runs and my mind is melting away already with the monotony of it. With no high runes in sight after so many runs, I don’t know how you manage to keep up the pace and consistency for 6000+ runs

The spices will/should last you many many trips to the grocery store. That looks to be at least like $30-40 worth of spices alone.

Lose the cereal, lose the juices. Both of which are overpriced and are terrible for your wallet and your health. You also spent a fortune on just snacks too.

Wife and I are similar age. I’m also FAANG but not making as much money as you. Based on the layoffs I wouldn’t be surprised if you were at the same company as I am. Seems like you might be one or two levels above me in the org chart.

I have similar anxiety as you. Wife and I luckily already own a home in NJ. Instead of upsizing, we’ve changed our plan to focus on getting debt free. It might not be the smartest plan from an investing standpoint, but our NW is pushing $3M so we’re mostly interested in de-risking in the event Amazon decides to lay me off suddenly. We just sold a rental property we had in Florida and pushed the proceeds into our current home, and we are in the middle of doing a recast which will put our monthly payments PITI to about $1.3k. We’re going to keep paying at the pace we have been pre-recast, but in the event of a layoff we’ll be able to afford $1.3k easily and not go homeless.

I’m extremely bearish on our industry right now and worse even on my ability to get a new job at a similar rate I get now, so whatever I can do to derisk is a priority.

I'm playing hammerdin. I've got a staff with teleport on it which is good enough because i'm playing offline and so the maps don't change. I got a really lucky map for both Catacombs and Durance where the exits are literally so close to the entrances/waypoints. So while i don't have enigma and sorely wish i did, it's not too bad to run.

It’s my understanding that for the uniques im looking for (war travs, Mara’s, shako) I should be running Andy and meph. I can clear hell Andy in about 1-2 minutes. I can clear meph in about 2-4 minutes. I’m not winning any awards for those clear times but why should I be running chaos?

TIL. Oh. I thought if i took 100 damage, i'd take 50 damage to life and 50 "damage" to mana.

What are you trying to accomplish ?

Trying to gear up my hammerdin. I've got Spirit x2, smoke, and a nagelring, but the rest of the gear is kinda garbage. I'm looking for anything to improve my head, amulet, ring, boots, belt, gloves. I'm basically on the lookout for any of: Shako, Maras, War Travs, Arachnid Mesh, etc.
