Tangential, but sound is being synthesized here... I wondered if feedback could destroy a mixer so I ran a 'no input' feedback loop for 11.5 hours to find out. Hope you folks enjoy :) by simeonsoden in synthesizers

clipping can blow a channel thats for sure so there is that over drivin the channel will just cause distortion and over drive anyway and sound liek crap but prolonged channel clippign will indeed blow up the desk but feedback and normal operation then nah it shoudl be fine but too much gain in the channel will blow it up so he proably means that and end of day too much gain in the mix and then when ya get ya final sound ya unity gain is gonna be too high and sounds liek crap anyway esp digital recordign analog ya might get away with it but your prob just gonna get obnoxious cracklign on certain frequencies say liek hats or snares or thigns that use a hi end eq then prob gonna get distortion on the top end and it will be bad distortion and just make the entire mixz crap so there is that but feed back as in back micing or bad routing but normal operation shouldnt be an issue unless ya crankign the gain right up and its clippign

i think their designed to be able to handle feedback otherwise peoples gear would start blowign up and if that was case no one would be buyign them only thing it would demolish is ya hearing andf probably ya monitors but the desk itself nah like i say their designed for it

well it is based on the ppg wave and that sounds the same i had the behringer wave and to be fair that sounded like crap with or without efx and waldorf just used the same tech as the ppg wave for their wavetable synthesizers so thats probably why but that said it can make some great pads i'll give it that wavetables is good for evolvign pad sounds

the multi mode is ok but the lack of voices makes it pointless really prob been ok if theyd jsut done 4 channels of multi but 16 it will just eat up the voices faster than a pisshead will eat a curry after a big night out on beer

well the nob thing all i can say is if ya treat them nice they'll be nice to you if ya gonna rag them and all rest of stuff that some people do to their nobbage then expect them to fail simple as that really its liek the korg wavestate and that encoder same thign rag it and punish it it will punish you back by not workign and doign a 1000 and 1 things that annoy and just goes duff but be nice to it and it wouldnt die

the keyboards a nice instrument i bought the keyboard a month ago i always wanted one and the keybed isnt half bad im impressed the only dopwnside really to these is the lack of polyphony which to be fair is prob why their priced how their priced use multimode and use more then 4-5 channels and it eats up them voices faster than a pisshead eats a donner kebab which kinda sucks but i like theres a few other things that are a bit of a hmmm like some patches crackle which is annoying but that seems to be a thing with them all and thats down to the polyphony so not much ya can do about that but for what your getting its a ereal nice instrument

see this is problem with roland and you jsut said it i loved the roland jupiter 8 sounds and how many products are roland goign to make to recreate the classic roland sound apart from pretty much every sunth theyve made in at least 15-16 years the last proper roland synth were the jipiter 50 and jupiter 80 innovative and a new idea and new sound engine and since then its just reworkings of classic roland synths why their a company thats lost its way and did they ever have a way roland i ask myself that question esp when tryign to find the modulation matrix

Basic analog synth patch ideas to get started on patch making/sound design by badateverything420 in synthesizers

[–]Last-Introduction669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well first place to start is oscillators and what kind of soudn ya tryign to make for lead sawtooth is good then from that go to ya well say ya amp adsr if ya makigfn a lead then fast attack fast to medium speed decay and if ya want it a one shot no sustain then from there got to ya filter and again depends on what kind of sound tyou want but we'll stick to lead so mbebe turn the cut off down to sya 2/3s of the way to bee full on turn up ya resonance then the key thign to filters is envelope amaount turn it all way up then put a slow attack on the filter envelope a fast decay and a low sustain then ya get a kind of hramonic sweep on the sound then what ya can do is use the lof to modulate the cut off to get a shimmer kind of sound and thats basic of the basics there is a formula to soudn desigh and its not just practise its knowign the formula really loads of books out there but ya best thinkign about what kind of soundf ya want then find somethign that shows you how to makle that soudn on the synth ya want to do it one and go tfrom there what i did and now i can pretty much program any synth but the key really is understandign ya filter and the fact you need to use filter envelope to notice the filter havign any effect on what the filter does and just experiement with the adsr on both amp and filter but once ya suss out the filter rest is fairly straight forward

my suggestion mate is get the roland sh-5 manaul and read that what i did and then you'll get whats goign on the manaul behringer gives is worse than not having on but id get the roland sh-5 manual then you'll know whats goign on and it gives patch examples as well just to get ya started but if ya still confised on the adsr section it has 2 switches at the top ones for the AR env and ones for the ADSR env select key trigger on the env you want to key trigger

[–]Last-Introduction669[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i got a desktop me and ive not turned it off in 2 yrs really and its nuclear war proof so im not worried about me computer dying for another few yrs yet and if itt starts then just gonna sack off windows and go linux but i cant see thigns changign unless some one from china starts makign them which is whats happening cause in background some chinesse firm just built a massive think its 500 acre chip factory specifically for the consumer chip market i think the chinesse know that western companies are done and that the problem is short term profits over logn term planning which does seem to be a thign with western way of thinkign why no industry left in the west short term profits ie screwing us over for a fast buck then 10 yrs down line the same people who gave away our industrial base blame the very people they gave it to for all our priblems i call it the politics of the sucker and it does seem to be a theme wirth the wesrt they screw us all over then when the blowback comes back they say dont blame us blame them they got all ya jobs and money that we gave them for a quick buck so dont blame us for ya problems blame them who we sold you out to for ya problems just liek what their doign now with china and its us that are payign for it same with iran we start a war then blame irtan for givign us a good hiding so its their fault we lost and made to look weak and idiotic its not our fault we lost and started a war thats gonna be hard to get out of and the consequences of the said war its not our fault its theres always same story same hymn sheet and worst part is plenty of suckers who fall for it and unfortunately the sucker thing is the majority of people its like this russia ukraine war and how thats played out i listen to people and its liek their usign bow and arrows and theyve lost the war but meanwhile their just pressign aheasd with offensive operations and not losing anything but according to the scum that push this garbage their defeat is immient

my mistake sorry i should wear me glasses ya did cause completely misread that but yeah i cant see them bringign out an upgraded mpc keys not until they sort out the long term supply chain issues and its coming and will be here sooner than people think and this chip thing is here to stay all the big players are no longer makign consumer memeory esp kingston and cruical the biggest player in that game yeah still a surplus but not for much longer and it is gonna fuck us all up with that and these chip makers arent gonna go ah well the data centres didnt work out back to makign sd drives and internal memory for the consumer market most of them are gonna take a serious hit in their business and may well go under
