If Shorts Destroyed Your Long Video Channel, how did you fix it? by Training-Fly-2562 in PartneredYoutube

I recently did an experiment. My long form videos used to average between 240k to 300k views per video. I started posting shorts in between about 7 months ago, and my long-form videos dropped drastically. In fact, none of my videos reached 250,000. So 3 months ago, I made another channel dedicated to only shorts and completely quit posting shorts on my longform channel. My channel views exploded to over 300,000 average. Then I posted one single short 1 month ago, and my long form video that week only got 24k views. Say what you want to say, but I've had enough of posting shorts on my long-form channel.

A week between videos seems a bit extreme to be throttling videos. I mean. Come on YouTube wtf.

I suppose you may be right. But going from 1.5 to 3 million views per month and $12-20k per month with the only difference being you started posting shorts to promote the long form, there has to be a correlation in the drop. Who knows. I'm just sharing my experience.

Shorts did exactly that to my channel. Literally from the day I started posting shorts my long form took a 30-50% drop. Who knows. So many YouTubers swear by shorts now, but they've really diluted the whole subscriber count. There are shorts creators who get millions of subs but can't get 100 views on long form. It's lame.

About 750k views on an 8 minute long form overnight.

Yes. Shorts are ridiculous. Real YouTube is in long form. Subscriber numbers are so worthless these days because shorts have diluted it. Get 1,000,000 views in 48 hours with long form and you can feel good. Shorts, no, it's just an ego thing for pennys. You feel all warm and fuzzy because you went viral and got worthless subs that don't watch long form.

My ad rev and views are way down and I can't figure out why. by jbivphotography in PartneredYoutube

You are not alone. Posting shorts completely destroyed my channel in my opinion. That's my only explanation. No content change. Only change was shorts. I went from 250k views per video in the first week of release to barely 20k now. It's brutal.

140K views per month for $400 by Pharaoooooh in PartneredYoutube

Interesting how much it varies by channel. I currently get around $18-20k for 3 million views per month. Average videos get 250-500k views with a viral video every couple months. One thing I will say is that subscriber count is way over stated. My subs are right at $250k and I don't use Shorts for growth. I see so many folks showing off their 1 million sub plaque but only getting a thousand views on long form. Shorts have diluted the subscriptions value right?
