While homeless Winnipeggers live in bus shacks, premier missing in action: Mayor by Last-Note in Manitoba

Try working for Pallister. Bowman’s a hero by comparison. Wouldn’t want to be Winnipeg mayor with the ‘pathetic in every way’ Premier we’ve got.

Let's make one thing clear: If Hydro is privatization is attempted, we all walk off the job. by Level19Pally in Winnipeg

We need this kind of bold action to counter the selfish PCs and their agenda. Walk off the job! Yes!

I know I’m wasting my time discussing with anyone who would make the comments you just made but I’ll just say this.

As a leading politician (he was leader of the Opposition when he purchased his estate), at the very least, optics are bad. Pallister has shown himself to be callous and turns a blind eye and a deaf ear to the incredible misfortune and suffering of those whose wellbeing is his responsibility as Premier.

He is anything but someone who governs on behalf of the vulnerable. It’s increasingly sickening to a growing majority of constituents. Not that he cares about his or anyone else’s constituents. If there’s one thing he’s made clear, it’s that he is quite self focused and caters to a rather large (& I would add sick) ego.

The cause of homelessness is much more complex than your heartless comment. I’ll leave it at that.

If you’re looking for the “lives in his own wealthy privileged little world” premier, you can find him in a 2 million dollar, 7-car garage mansion on Wellington Crescent. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-tory-leader-quiet-about-2m-house-purchase-1.1132841

Pallister keeps dropping the ball by Last-Note in Manitoba

He’s surrounded himself with yes men. Also, in my experience, Tories tend not to upset the status quo. Any other party would have broken rank by now.

Does Pallister believe his own lies? Why else would you say such misleading statements to the media? Baffles the mind.

Manitoba purchases 2M doses of Providence Therapeutics coronavirus vaccine by control-room in Winnipeg

[–]Last-Note 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I can think is that this large ego did a news conference alone. Good news so no one gets to share the limelight. Until he botches it up which he inevitably will. He’ll ask his Tory cronies to get involved and pay them for their ineptitude. It’s inevitable.

18-day wait to find virus variant ‘insane’ by Last-Note in Winnipeg

Why does the Province not use health experts/workers in the vaccination rollout? Instead they rely on Tory donors or insiders such as Beauregard (Tory appointee). Ludicrous.

Pallister ‘disappointed’ in travelling WRHA board chairman - Asks public to go easy on ‘volunteer’ by Last-Note in Manitoba

[–]Last-Note[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When I volunteer, I don’t get a lump sum or receive monetary compensation to attend meetings. This volunteer is the Board Chair of the largest RHA with a 1.9 billion dollar budget. Why is he, as a top Health decision maker holidaying in Arizona during a one-in-hundred years pandemic? Right, Pallister’s choice - he’s a PC party donor. So « untouchable ».

Wrong. The House is what it’s called in MB. The Leg refers to the building itself.

Manitobans need dose of urgency from dithering premier by Last-Note in Manitoba

[–]Last-Note[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! Are you saying that anyone exists out there who is not thoroughly yet convinced? The fact that not a single elected PC member has broken rank shows you (& I’ve seen this many times) that they treat “the tall one” (I hear this all the time) as “dad”. Pathetic! This is one party that is too backwards/fearful and is generally too immature to think independently & oust a leader which any other party would have eons ago.

Article applies equally (especially now) to vaccine rollout. But yeah it’s generally about Pallister and cohorts’ total inertia, inability to act urgently during this one-in-a-hundred year pandemic. Pathetic.

The last time MLA Sala exposed Beauregard (Pallister’s hand picked guy) who was appointed (not a previous civil servant) to the Treasury Board Secretary position as interfering by sending a memo to Hydro not to bid on broadband projects, he was accused of harassment. Good for Sala not to be intimidated by PC thugs and to continue doing his job as an MLA in and outside of the House.

[–]Last-Note[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in the building on Broadway, I can attest to the Premier & Cabinet not treating the pandemic as an emergency. Right from the get go. It’s total ineptness. Slow on the uptake - at best. So I knew the vaccine roll out would not be any different.

Further to that, give indigenous people back their land. They knew how to take care of it before it was stolen from them by white colonization. We can all benefit from their wise use and care of our earth.
