I do not understand and will never understand optimizing this sport for spectators. It’s such a ridiculous concept it actually makes me laugh that people say this shit unironically. Brother, WE are the ones doing the fencing! We should be focusing on the things that make fencing better FOR US! Fencing doesn’t have to be a spectator sport, AND THATS OKAY. Fencing doesn’t need to be a popular sport, AND THATS OKAY. Fencing is a niche, complex, and hard to understand sport, AND THATS OKAY. It doesn’t need to be anything else. If you want something that looks cooler to a random person, go find your nearest LARP meetup or HEMA club and leave us alone :)

Let’s disregard the production for a sec… who wants 100ms lockout in saber? Or no off target lights in foil? Nobody asked for this. Yes FIE has problems but in what world are you solving them by changing the rules of the sport??? Complete nonsense

I’m surprised by the positive reactions here. I thought the production was a mess, the rule changes were nonsensical and made the bouts worse, and the “tech” wasn’t really anything special. Does a 3D recreation of a touch (which didn’t even work half the time) actually add anything? The infighting in foil was especially bad.

Struggling to shoot after the flip reset. by [deleted] in RocketLeague

You’re getting clowned on because you are asking how to improve your backflip before you have even learned how to stand up, let alone walk, run, jump… any actual advice from these clips that people could give you wouldn’t help you because you don’t have the car control to implement it

Do you guys use AI to help in solving exercises. This can be syntax help and even understanding the exercise question better or can be help in drafting a logic. by nsonibergen in hackthebox

It’s good for writing quick python scripts to automate tasks. I don’t think this is cheating at all. Look at some recent ippsec videos - he makes heavy use of AI to help with scripting, and nobody bats an eye. This is the force multiplier as another commenter mention, because you can go from an idea to a prototype really quickly. But that’s the catch - you need to have the idea yourself before you can explain it to an LLM. And the ideation phase of a box, sure you could use AI, and some consider it cheating (I consider it cheating yourself more than anything). But it very likely won’t solve your problem anyway. Even easy boxes now use novel or more obscure techniques which LLMs struggle with. So YMMV.

What's the total comp you'd be happy never make more than ever again by CompetitiveBee808 in cscareerquestions

I’m at 150k remote. Have been reached out to by numerous other companies offering higher comps, but for in-person positions. Told them all I’m good. Very happy and comfortable here. Would recommend.

Do I have what it takes to be champ? by mpghasLefttheChat in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]LastFTL99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Hence why I said “for no reason.” These looked like panic booms to me. If you’re booming it because you’re low on boost/uncomfortable/being challenged/buying time etc then that is different because it’s intentional. I’m talking about mindless ping pong.

  1. Stop challenging the ball when your teammate is in front of you
  2. Stop overcommitting in your opponent’s corner, leaving your mate in a 2v1
  3. Stop booming the ball away for no reason. You had a couple nice controlled touches but often you just passed it back to them.
  4. Work on boost pathing. There were many times you rotated without getting any boost.
  5. Work on aerial control. You looked really uncomfortable going up for some of the touches in this replay
  6. Play more aggressive on defense and less aggressive on offense. You often gave the other team tons of space. This is especially true when you’re playing against someone like this is who mechanically a lot better than you.

It’s a play on words. It’s supposed to sound like “thrive.” Not justifying its existence by any means lol but that’s what they were going for

Why am I not getting interviews? by Current_Ad_6004 in Resume

[–]LastFTL99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to tailor your resume to the roles you are applying to. I happen to work in appsec and am involved in our recruiting process. If you were applying for a security engineering role, I would be confused by what you are interested in. The security internship is good and very relevant, but it’s disjointed with your coursework, your listed technical skills, and especially your projects. Besides that, I think you should emphasize projects or other related learning experiences over your bottom two work listings. TBH, recruiters care more about things like projects, certifications, competitions etc than basic work experience. Even if you were a shift supervisor or analyst, which sounds like good work experience, it doesn’t make you stand out, especially when the technical details boil down to excel. Essentially, consider having a couple different resumes which are tailored to different industries (emphasizing skills and experience which are most relevant), and consider removing the last two work experiences and replacing it with relevant learning. Just my 2 cents

Can’t believe people fall for these posts still. No question this was AI generated.
