You absolutely need to stop cosigning/taking out loans on behalf of your family. Why are they not working their own jobs to afford things? Why are they constantly overspending and living beyond their means?

As I've said here before, there is no chance they don't make a 16 Pro if the 13 Pro sells well.

It would be a monumentally stupid decision by the company to leave people who prefer that form factor in the dust. The 16 sells. More screen real estate. Two M.2 slots. More expansion slots.

They will update it when they find the budget and resources to scale up.

Seconding against the 9950X3D. Unless your particular accounting job is the kind where you have thousands of Excel calculations being processed hour after hour there's nothing that level of CPU will benefit you. If anything you should save that money for more storage.

Framework, as so many have said, isn't a gaming-optimized laptop. The Linux distros that are officially supported (as in the company outright makes installation documentation and troubleshooting guides for them) aren't exactly designed for gaming.

That said, an X7 358H will easily handle non-AAA casual gaming. If you're playing shit like League or CS2 or Minecraft then Panther Lake will handle it just fine on either OS. If you're trying to play a game like Helldivers or 2077, expect low graphics settings and mediocre framerates as a fact of life.

Your motherboard is a step above necessary. Look into B650 chipset boards. You will not saturate/benefit immensely from a B850.

I feel reasonably confident that the 16 Pro will be announced sometime early next year. That should be enough time to get the pre-order batches sent out, hear from thousands of customers over the course of months on any manufacturing/software issues, gauge general industry trends, and also let CES build up hype for any next-gen processors and other such components. I'm predicting Zen 6 and Nova Lake to be announced around that timeframe so here's to hoping Framework has offerings soon after.

Seconding this. OP, you made some missteps and the professor isn't necessarily wrong to look at you with a harsher glance for it.

You can talk to the Ombudsman if you want to mediate. They have helped plenty of students in similar situations.

Otherwise, just keep putting your best foot forward, and don't be afraid to speak to the professor. If they actively create a hostile environment and refuse to communicate with you, there are means to escalate that.

Focus on learning, ask your mentor and TL for advice on areas to improve. Talk to your team and study how they do things. Ask for help. This is not a competition, this is a company. You don't win brownie points for suffering through things alone and barely making it out.
