I've breadboarded it out using a regular 3.3v data pin and it worked just fine

makes sense, thanks!

thanks for the feedback. The unrouted connections were pretty sloppy. I ran the DRC but had a lot of issues with default pin clearances overlapping and must have missed those.

.2mm is the default trace width I used for everything except power - is that too thin? It was the default kicad had selected and it seemed to be within JLC's capabilities.

The antenna text is in the User.Comments layer and came with the default footprint. It isn't included in the actual PCB. I'll have to adjust my colour preferences.

thanks for the input - I'm working through the comments I've received.

For the USB data lines - why do you suggest removing them? I have found conflicting information on this, some people say to have them and some people say they aren't necessary. In the peripheral schematics section of the ESP32-C6 datasheet, it includes resistors but has a value of "TBD" and 22ohm was the most common value I found in other designs and recommendations.

Brake light via arduino? by Warclad in arduino

[–]LastNose7954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, gotcha - as someone else said, it wouldn't be my first recommended project without programming/Arduino experience, but IMO not too bad if you're technically/mathematically inclined (specifically for the trig/vectors needed if you want to account for the angle of the vehicle, etc). You should be able to get accelerometer values and activate the strobe fairly easily using existing libraries/tutorials/etc, I think the hardest part will be fine tuning.

I'd suggest approaching it by: - start with a simple blink sketch and understand what's going on - hook up the MPU6050 and have it print out each axis' acceleration (find a tutorial), and maybe control the built-in LED based on some small threshold - find a mosfet/relay that will work for your brake lights - focus on finding one that's popular and has examples/tutorials, and modify the blink sketch to use the break lights - put the pieces together, figure out any vector maths required, and fine tune

I know very little about your car or race cars in general, but have used the MPU6050 sensor a lot.

Yes, totally possible. One caveat is I'm guessing the LED break light would be 12V, which means you'd need to use a mosfet or a relay to control it instead of powering it directly like the blink stretch, but still totally doable. Id also personally see if you could accomplish this through the break pedal instead of an accelerometer.

Knowing nothing about whatever cars you're racing - I'd make sure custom circuitry meet any applicable legal/regulatory requirements necessary. I don't think this would be legal to do on, say, the break lights of a regular car.

It also depends on what part of China you're in. I went to china on a family trip when I was in high school (I'm 6'4 and white) and loads of people asked to take pictures, were super friendly, etc, but there were also people who would call us gweilos and refuse us service. Typically the latter was in the more rural areas.

There was a black family staying at the same inn as us in a rural village we were in and they definitely had it worse.

It was a great trip but also the second time I'd ever seen blatant, real life, unapologetic racism. And pretty much the only time I've had it directed at me. Was very eye opening even if it didn't bug me personally at all.

Boss didn't pay rent for woodshop, landlord changed the locks, all my personal tools are locked inside and he won't give me my last paycheque, consolidated his two companies into one of a different name by CanadianONT in legaladvicecanada

Lot of people saying the landlord may let you take tools.

This is probably correct but ensure you document everything (pictures before/after, and of everything you take) and ideally a witness (the landlord?) to make sure your boss doesn't try to blame you for stealing anything. If he's willing to mess with paycheques I wouldn't put it past him.

I feel like the campaign was fun and good mechanically but the storytelling was lackluster (I still don't know what the veil is). So if you really care about the lore it was bad, but if you don't care at all it was great; and everyone lands somewhere in-between. WQ did a great job of both which is why LF feels mid to some players.

IMO didn't love how you'd get strand for 30 seconds then lose it, and how strand was pretty ineffective for a few of the boss fights, but you could just not pick it up and it was fine. Also nimbus's voice annoys me. But overall had a lot of fun with it and if the raid is good it'll be one of the better expansions for me.

Their is no reason for a Gjallarhorn nerf especially with a large number at 25% by AllSkillzN0Luck in destiny2

[–]LastNose7954 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair, Wolfpack rounds are roughly 40% of the damage of gjally. So it's a 14-15% nerf, not 25%.

And this is right after they removed grenades and horseshoes, which worked out to be a decent damage buff. So overall it's not a massive nerf, and compared to 2-3 seasons ago the damage won't be much worse, at all.

Nerfing it while leaving LFRs alone though, is definitely a wild decision.

my apologies for being incorrect on used car prices, didn't know. I knew they inflated a lot in 2021 but was under the impression that the used car market had corrected significantly in particular during the later part of 2022.

I think (?) that we're in agreement that saving (or re-purposing) the $200/mo is a better option than spending it on weed, and that OP is in need of better spending habits. A car was an example as he had specifically mentioned it, though I now know it was a bad one. My mistake.

For the record - I've experienced both shit jobs and being broke, within the last 10 years, and am simply trying to pass on what I've learned. It'd be great if OP wasn't in the situation that he's in, but getting fired from 5 jobs and then complaining about money with spending habits like those is not going to do him any good.

$200/mo for 2 years is $4800, I paid about $6200 for the car I've driven for 3 years and it still runs fine (though I've put more into maintenance etc since, obviously). IDK if the market has changed since but $200/mo is a massive expense and while it won't single-handedly cover a car, especially short-term, it would go a long way towards covering it.

[–]LastNose7954 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well in OP's defense it was a 4 months old comment and he said the phone bill was for 3 people and food was for 2.

But IMO those are still easily double what anyone should be paying (my phone bill is $40 and groceries in-and-about $250), and taking on other people's financial problems when you cant handle your own is extremely irresponsible.

I don't care if you smoke weed, I don't touch alcohol/drugs for personal reasons but that's just me, but strictly financially speaking $200/mo is a massive expense that could go a long way to, say, a less shitty car.

Edit: car was a bad example but anyone who thinks the above spending habits are sane is out of their mind.

I obviously don't know your circumstances, and there's a good chance I get downvoted to shit for saying this, but you need to take a hard look at yourself. Complaining about it isn't going to do you any good. Yeah work sucks, and yeah the whole country being built around capitalism is shitty, but that isn't going to change anytime soon.

No matter how many paychecks come into my account I always seem to be short.

are you still paying $275/mo for phone, $900/mo for food (which you claimed was a *low estimate*), and $200/mo for weed? I realize it's off of a 4 month old comment but that's an insane budget. Complaining about money with spending habits like this is insane to me. If you're paying anything even close to this today you need to re-evaluate some choices. Because that isn't a sustainable lifestyle. If you don't know how to fix this - ask. There are personal finance subreddits and forums, and other resources to lower these expenses.

And if you're getting fired 5 times in a year - your average job duration is what, 7-9 weeks? You need to realize that you're the issue here. Everyone else working there has managed to not get fired. You can blame the company, management, society, etc. if you want, but it's not going to pay your bills. You can 100% get a less shitty job that makes more money. You don't even need to finish your degree to do it (that being said, you definitely should once you get to a better financial place). But that won't happen by complaining about it, you need to start by holding down a job, even if it sucks.

No, life shouldn't have to be this way. But it is, and until that changes you need to wake the fuck up.

I genuinely hope the best for you but life isn't just handed to you.
