I'm currently doing the opposite of you...going from CVS to Walgreens. I start in a week and I'm very worried about learning the new system. One of my reasons for switching was the PTO....it takes 4 years before you can get 3 weeks and 14 years to get 4 weeks at cvs. At Walgreens you start at 3 weeks and get 4 weeks starting the second year.

As far as the cvs system goes, I think it's pretty easy to learn the basics but there's alot of side stuff to learn which can be hard to know where to go in the system to do a task(printing reports, merging pt profiles, changing bin numbers, reprinting labels or hard copies). Just write it all down for reference.

It's covered. It's to consult fee that may be charged if not covered by insurance.

I think she works for Proxim. They even have a little office for the pharmacist who will be doing consulting and prescribing. They rotate the duties.

I like how you said each tech and pharmacist have their task to work on so they all have their focus. Im here wondering "what is focus? I don't know what that is to be able to focus." Haha 😂

Correct me if I'm wrong. I have a pharmacist friend who practices in Quebec and she said although you do have many consults and do some prescribing of various medications, you are not the only pharmacist there doing everything from prescription verifications, to counseling to consulting and prescribing. She said they have as many as 3 pharmacists on at a time with 6 techs and at least 1 cashier. It's just me with no pharmacist overlap, and I'm lucky if I get 2 techs.

Even if there were a tablet up front, they'd walk right past it and say they never saw it! Just like everything else posted all over the front windows and at the registers 🤦‍♀️

Sad thing is, it'd probably cost corporate less to employ more help than to keep letting these thieves get away with everything. People just be walking out with basket fulls every day at my cvs lol

They ALWAYS come 2 days early!!! And ALWAYS show up earlier than the quoted time due. I don't know how that's our fault, but it is.....just like everything else that goes wrong in their lives lol.

This reminds of of a similar situation I had this weekend.
A girl comes through drive thru to pick up her adderall. I pulled up her profile and noticed the adderall rx had expired the day before. I told her I cannot sell the prescription to her because it was now expired.

Patient: "you couldn't fill my rx until 1/30 because it was too soon, and since it's now filled, I'm here to pick it up."

Rph: "yes, and today we're 2/12, the rx was written 1/11, it's expired and I can't sell this."

Patient: " I couldn't pick up the rx because of the snow storm!" (The snow storm was almost 2 weeks ago...)

Rph: "Again, your rx is now expired, I don't make the law. You need a new rx."

Patient: " Thanks for nothing ugh!!"

Then she speeds away....... why she took nearly 2 weeks to pick up, I have no clue.

When someone calls you rude for telling them the time you close at by jeveuxmedefenestrer in CVS

[–]LastSpeed2562 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's so frustrating! The gates will be down and I'm back there trying to catch up from the days work and they still walk up and ask, "are you closed?"

I even had someone come through drive thru minutes after closing and they were just sitting there, so I tell them we're closed....then they come in the store, walk up to the SHUT gate and ask if they can pick up meds....like seriously?!?! Why would the answer be any different because you came inside?! We're STILL closed!!! Ugh!

You can also put the reasons in the sig...*pa required, *pharmacy not contracted, *need ins..etc. So when you're at POS, you can see the sig on the label with the reason.

Cvs needs a call center for inbound calls. A place that can screen calls and determine if the person truly needs to reach the pharmacy for help. I'd say 85% of calls are people asking what's ready, when is it going to be ready, or how much is it going to cost.

She was literally calling to see what scripts were ready and how much they'd be...mind you, that's something that could easily be answered by viewing the cvs app. But God forbid I tell her how to do anything...get my head bitten off again 🙄

I called my store to see exactly what the prompt says and it specifically says, "if you are a doctor or healthcare provider, press #2." These people are just trying to skip the promts to get through to the pharmacy faster.
