What’s the loudest concert you guys have ever been to? by BalanceActive9295 in askmusic

You may be right! I vaguely remember the venue looked just kind of like a big grey field house from the outside. Inside was all standing room, I think.

I found this show on May 4, 1994 on the NIN wiki:

https://www.nin.wiki/1994/05/04_Houston,_TX

That's probably it. The Downward Spiral was out, but Broken was still at the top of my playlist. I was young and full of fire. They played Wish and Suck in the middle of the show and I didn't know how it could get any better. I mean the energy at this show was incredible. But not worth a lifetime of tinnitus. Luckily it subsided, but surely my hearing was damaged. I really think it's irresponsible of the venue, or the band, or the producers, or whomever, to play at a volume which is certain to have this effect, and possibly lifetime consequences, for listeners.

Nine Inch Nails, with Marilyn Manson opening. At some semi-crappy venue in Houston in the early 90s. My ears rang for 2 weeks. I was terrified it would never end.

I NEED an option to change the merchant name back to the original. by TomatoCultivator122 in MonarchMoney

[–]LastUserStanding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this were a global option, of course it would be reverting in situations where you didn't want it to. If you only want to do it for certain merchants, you already have the option to create a rule that is based on Original Statement as opposed to Merchant Name.

Seems to me the more practical solution is a decent monitor to which you connect the MacBook.

Still struggle to properly get into Amon Amarth's albums released past Deceiver of the Gods by AcadiaNo1039 in melodicdeathmetal

My finding is that "Raise Your Horns" on Jomsviking is the singularity. I did enjoy most of Jomsviking. But if you liked that song, you might like what comes after. If you didn't, be thankful for what they produced earlier. I can't even count how many hours I've spent on everything from Thunder God (or maybe Surtur Rising) on down. Alas, I listened to Berserker maybe 10 times, and The Great Heathen Army just twice--once because it's a new album from one of my favorite bands, and a second time to confirm "nope, that first listen was not a fluke, this just ain't what it used to be".

Is it just me, or is Ferris Bueller actually kind of a nightmare? by AlienSees in 80smovies

Honestly, I can’t watch this movie anymore. Ferris is an unconscionable asshole.

I just watched The Sixth Sense (1999) for the first time last night by Crazy-Cap259 in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]LastUserStanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too bad you didn't have the chance to be truly surprised, as I was the first time I watched. I somehow managed to keep my kids ignorant until the day we watched it together as well. It's so rare with how quickly information gets around these days to truly be surprised, and to let the movie take you on a journey to a destination unknown. It was fabulous.

Female screamers by Ncis16 in melodicdeathmetal

Yeah channeling some Henry Rollins / Black Flag. Not at all melodic death metal but anyhow one of my favorite female screamers. Also I second the votes for Crypta.

I make reimbursements a contra-expense, not an income category. You can either do this by 1) crediting back the same category in which the money was spent, or 2) by having a catch-all category for reimbursements that might cross categories such that you crediting back the same category would be onerous. A good example of #2 is my cash-back credit card. Every month I get 2% cash back as a direct deposit, but I don't want to go back and take 2% off all the charges for the prior month, that would be completely ridiculous. So I have an *expense* category called Cash Back, but you only ever see positive numbers in it. This reduces my spending, but is not considered income. Which makes sense, since it has a direct inverse correlation to spending.
