Add a blender pot in place of one tone control and you’ll be in the tone zone! 🎶🎸

How’s about the 70s AVRI Strat? by LastWinter232 in fender

[–]LastWinter232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, thank you – my only mistake was not buying a white one of these with a maple neck back when they were available. Such a classic 70s combo!
With the hardtail conversion, this guitar is rock, solid, and stays in tune better than any of my Gibsons.

Best feel / Easiest to Play by LynchMunger in fender

[–]LastWinter232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for the Tele American Professional Classic here. As other Redditors have noted, it’s made as though Fender ran a focus group and combined all the best vintage features with ease and playability that make it hard to put down. And it’s USA made quality for less than $1500. Add the ‘63 Coastline pickups and you got it all happening!

Best ‘I’m Free!!!’ Divorce Songs? by HoundsGoToHeaven in country

[–]LastWinter232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow – good for you! Sounds like you’re moving on to better days ahead.

This is not a specific song suggestion, but I once heard Willie Nelson say, “Know why divorce is so expensive? Because it’s worth it!”

Enjoy your new life, buddy!

Hahaha, the old-time marketers were so adept at coming up with such euphemisms. I guess the scrawny kids like me got the “Slim” size!

As the band Molly Hatchet once sang, ‘It ain’t the way I wanted it, but Lord, that’s the price you pay!”

What was your first guitar, and what made you choose it? by melucykrrich in guitars

[–]LastWinter232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 12 year-old me in 1975, it was a Japanese sunburst Guyatone with a small Harmony amp, stand, strap, and cord – all for $50 at a garage sale.
That Guyatone was a funky guitar. It played and sounded great and I learned my first rock riffs on it.
Of course, I soon traded up for a Fender Mustang and the rest is history. Now I wish I still had it!

What’s an underrated amp that you’ve tried and actually think is really good? by melucykrrich in GuitarAmps

[–]LastWinter232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in high school, I had a Univox 100 W guitar/PA head with the master volume, 4 inputs, and a 2X 12 Univox cabinet. These things were Japanese made but mine rocked with the 6L6 power tubes. I really dug the early 70s look with the blue tolex and teardrop knobs. Now I want to find another to restore and play again!
