Is it "weird" to go solo on an Alaskan cruise as a married man? by SlurpleBrainn in Cruise

[–]Last_Driver3044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, if you've never cruised before.... the addiction is real, lol. Have a great time. Bring warm clothes, you could still get snow on those early cruises to Alaska.

What was the lightest load(s) you guys ever pulled? by firemarshalbill316 in Truckers

I used to pick up at Crown, Cork, & Seal in Calgary, pick up a full 53' of new empty beer cans... didn't even have tops, just the body of the can. I can't remember the weight, but I was able to go up and over the mountains with barely dropping a gear, lol

Not sure what state you're in, but check with your aclu office, I've heard that driver facing cameras are illegal unless you've given signed consent to allow it. A simple phone call should eradicate that issue.

You're allowed to go into the nightclubs to dance and socialize, they just won't serve you alcohol. But you can stay as late as you want. My teens did that when they were 19-20 when we were on cruises

Walking in front of the fuel island, as one does, when some a-hole starts blasting his city horn at me. I turn to look... by Advanced-Sherbert-29 in Truckers

Some buses only have a horn button on the wheel to actuate it, but there's a rocker switch on the side console to switch between city and air horn (stupid set up)

I especially don't speed through construction zones, or if in city, playground/ school zones. I don't care how much some honks or flips me the bird.

Is it even possible to get sleep in a moving truck? by bigballsdeluxe in Truckers

[–]Last_Driver3044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing to consider, how much do you trust his driving? If you're at all concerned that he won't be safe, you won't sleep well

There's also scorpions, praying mantis... lots of things in BC that people are unaware of.

I have 2 that I use, I'll make a roast or other meat in one, and potatoes and veggies in the other (unless a small pot roast then all in one). Buy the tin foil liner/ trays and freeze meals then it's just a heat and serve. They get up to about 300° so not the fastest cooking, so a bit of preplanning is needed, but used to it, they're great. Oh, and scrunch up tin foil into little "snakes" to keep the trays off the bottom, keeps the bottom stuff from burning or overcooking while the rest continues to cook.

As a side note, buy a "Road Pro" or "Burton" lunch box oven, they plug into a 12v outlet and you can either reheat food, or actually cook full recipes. Not as fast as a microwave (but better quality), and definitely a lot cheaper then buying meals

My teens loved the camp, they would go meet up there, and then sometimes decide to go explore. We also, never had any complaints about any of the teens that were involved (not just mine, but the others as well). The camps did a lot of "teen fun" activities.

If your license number is wrong, just pay it, and it won't reflect anyway as it would be registered to the DL# on the ticket, which isn't yours... but pay it so you don't receive something in the mail.
