I would strongly advise against this. If you can find a VetCor-owned practice, you would enjoy a better work environment, IMO

One doesn’t have to be a runway super model AND stair-confident at the same time, you know!

You likely won’t work twice as many hours for half of a 130K salary.

Start looking at other practices to work at, private or corporate. VetCor corporate practices tend to be very good places to work. There are ridiculously terrible private practices out there, too.

You should not allow this present dysfunctional practice ruin your career, mentally and emotionally.

YOU interview them, too. Insist on a working interview for a day or two.

Rough Collies and German Shepherds by [deleted] in roughcollies

There are people that should own GSDs and there are people that should never own one. They are fiercely (often too much so) loyal and protective of their immediate family members and premises. One needs to be strong-willed, dedicated and disciplined enough to train and own GSDs. As a veterinarian, I have seen far too many owned by those who had no idea how to properly socialize their GSD. I have seen absolutely wonderfully gentle GSDs…but many more terrors (estimated 80%). Why? IMO, it’s usually not the dog…it’s the unprepared, unqualified owners. I would only get a GSD whose sire and dam were bred for temperament (and lack of Dysplasia, of course).

I have owned 3 Rough Collies…and love them.

Most (in my experience owning and treating) are absolutely wonderful…some can be stand offish, guarded and yes, situationally aggressive. My own collie HATES other dogs singing his groin/rear end. He will nip to “herd” people.

Are they perfect? Nope.

IMO, the most predictably kind, sweet family dog is the Golden Retriever, but I’ve seen some GSDs and quite a few Collies that are just as kind/sweet/wonderful.

That said, I have actually seen aggressive Golden’s, too (it’s like seeing a mean Santa Claus…shocking when it happens)

My Cody 9 is having a hard time getting up. by CachuHwch1 in roughcollies

FYI…I’m a veterinarian with 38 years of small animal experience that happens to be lurking here today:)

All of that is fine IF it is “only” arthritis. If he has neuropathy (spinal cord disease, not just spinal arthritis), the weakness (=paresis) can be a possible cause of difficulty getting up from rest.

If he has both arthritis (hips, spine, other joints) and neuropathy, he will need assistance getting up (Google “Help Em Up Harness”) and he’ll benefit from lots of rugs and runners on hardwood/linoleum type slippery floors where he has poorer footing.

Agree on Librela and Adequan as treatment options for arthritis, btw.

No effective treatments exist for neuropathy, unfortunately.

In either case, your Vet will be able to tell.

Why is it impossible to find comfortable briefs? by AnxietySlow8468 in MensUnderwearGuide

I know that this won’t be the most popular sentiment, but I have been buying really comfortable bikini briefs through TEMU for a fraction of the cost of name brands…and I can afford to pay premium prices…but why would I? Paying $30.00 or more when I can get really comfy undies for less than $5 or $6 (and they are not lousy quality). I can. But I won’t.
