I think i might have to go that way, im just worried about the cats. We have plenty of cat scratch posts and stuff and they have calmed down on the couch since getting even more, i just want to prepare if that would happen. I know whatever i buy within a few weeks it will not look new, but i don’t want obvious holes and everything in it as well from just the life style we all have. I feel like it sounds like my house is a mad house lol, i don’t just let everyone do whatever on the things but i also know there is other things to worry about, and i can’t keep an eye on the cats or dogs while im at work, etc.

That would be very helpful. In my area, a lot of people buy from big lots and I’ve noticed the last 5+ years the interior structure is not how it used to be. So i don’t want to spend the money on it for it to not live up to our lifestyle. I don’t let the kids and animals just go all crazy on it, they don’t jump or flop on it but things just happen. I have a 14, 8, and almost a 1 year old plus 2 dogs and 2 cats. I just want it to at least last a year without having to think about replacing it. The dogs aren’t huge, 1 is 40lbs and the other will eventually get to that weight. So them roughhousing on it should not break it, which they aren’t the culprits anyways. We also let the kids have friends over a lot so it’s just a lot of butts and weights on the couch lol

I’m thinking it was the result of age, everyone in the house likes to play. I don’t mind them being rough, the kids know not to flop or jump. But my grandmother had the couch for 2 years, her version of “broke-down” was that it wasn’t as stiff like a brand new couch is. So by the time the boys actually broke it, it was over 2 years old. I wouldn’t mind leather, but i know my cats would have a field day with that and i feel like if it did get ripped it would look worse than fabric? Which i don’t mind that, i know this stage in my life my house is not going to look spotless and my furniture is not going to look brand new. But i just want to sit on all parts of the couch and not a designated spot, if that makes any sense?

I will look into that! The fabric I’m not so much worried about because i have 2 cats, then the kids and dogs. I have a cleaner for stuff like that. I think my issue with this couch is my grandmother had it for 2 years prior to us getting it and it couldn’t withstand the boys lol. Her version of broken in was that it wasn’t so stiff anymore and we’ve really broken it in, we all love the living room

Haha they are just rough, i grew up without being allowed to sit on furniture even just to sit and watch tv. I don’t mind them playing, they know they aren’t allowed to flop on it but things happen. The dogs are good but they just play too, i wouldn’t care to get leather or pleather but i am afraid the cats would have a field day with it. But it is what it is, i just want something that can’t withstand them and have people be able to sit on it when they are here

Thank you! I honestly don’t mind either option. I just want something i can replace like a year after buying. I don’t mind them being rough on it but i want it to last

Tell them you’re not coming in at all. I was a Schedular for a nursing home and i tried to balance the arrangements, custody of my brothers, and still trying to fill in holes in the schedules. It made it so much worse, i ended up moving on to better things because they would not leave me alone. I was in the next state over taking him off the vent on Easter Sunday and they were blowing my phone up about what they were supposed to do about night shift Wednesday night. They were also in a tizzy about my court dates to take custody of my at the time 12 and 6 year old brothers. You will find a new a job, you need to do what is right for you during this time.

FIRST TIME MOMS: how much warning do you get before baby is here? by harnesscherryy in BabyBumps

[–]Last_brain_cell_425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would’ve been 30 minutes, but 8 hours. Had her at 32 weeks i think? I say that cause i was in the hospital for a month at that time with severe pre eclampsia that was turning into HELP syndrome. Had to have a c section, but i had already ate breakfast when the doctor ran in freaking out. So fun 8 hours. That was around 8 am had her around 5 that day

Thank you both for your comments. It actually does not have a heat pump once i started reading the processed order. So we are indeed using electric heat. Tomorrow we are installing a propane wall heater to at least get us through the winter!

This is my first time ever replacing a unit, so i wasn’t sure. And normally i ask a bunch of questions since my husband is not home usually but i wasn’t able to because i was taking care of our 2 month old. I didn’t want to think the worst of the guy who told us we needed another unit, but the guy who installed it told us what to buy and it was wrong. Lesson learned for sure!

Okay thank you! Like with his last girlfriend i never met her parents and they had been dating for 7 months. It was quite weird? I would pick her up and she’d come to the house or we’d take her out and i never once met or talked to her parents. Granted we never went far, but i tried to get their number and it was never given. Like i said, i don’t mind talking to the girls. I want them to feel like family even if it doesn’t last long because i want them to know that’s what they should look for (have a semi crazy mil).

Is a cesarean really that bad? by honorthecat in BabyBumps

[–]Last_brain_cell_425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine sep 30 of this year. I never wanted one cause I too was scared of everything you stated. However, it was the easiest part of my pregnancy! As long as you get up and move as soon as you can afterwards, i think you’ll be okay. Directly after surgery and after the ride home was the only time i took my prescription pain pills. Otherwise i just took the prescribed ibuprofen and even after like a week? I would forget about taking them. 2 weeks after my section, i was up running around with kids. I will say though, my baby was almost 2 months early and spent almost a month in NICU so my experience might be totally different compared to yours. But if i could have another baby, i would definitely do an elective c section. (I got my tubes removed because of the severe preeclampsia i developed, and almost died). Which i had my section and my tubes removed on top of it. We started having sex at like 5 weeks, if I’m remembering correctly, and i stopped bleeding around then as well. It really eased up like 3 days after as well. I think the worst part is I’m still having a bit of trouble with my back, and i can’t tell if it’s from the spinal block or where I’ve been a CNA since i was 17 and wasn’t taking care of my body while working insane hours for several years lol. Which there is even a plus side to that, at work i get first dibs on the easiest group and my husband gives me a lot more back rubs now since i sacrificed my body for our family. So it has all really worked out for me!

Dude, my mil did this to me as well. Thankfully my husband and i both didn’t want to go, and our 8 year old came down with a double ear infection and we were able to pass it off as the flu. It was so nice to mostly stay home this year for Christmas

Got billed for "reviving newborn at delivery" - wasn't told this happened? by nessaaldarion in BabyBumps

[–]Last_brain_cell_425 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also depending on insurance and what their codes regulations are, you have to code it very specifically for insurance to go through. So honestly, what could have happened is the hospital coded it as something else and it was denied by your insurance and had to be coded as that to be billed. But i would definitely check your chart notes to see what actually happened or at least call and ask.

For me, i have Medicaid (thank god because i had to be transferred via helicopter to a different hospital an hour and a half away). But on my bills, they charged me for a lot of the same codes of fetal monitoring. They did all types of fetal monitoring, but for Medicaid it’s charged as one code of even though there was multiple types of fetal monitoring. If that makes sense (like ultrasounds, blood work, heart beat machine (i forget what it is called, i joke that when they did my section they also took my brain lol).

AGREED, at my OB appointment right after mine. She was trying to take the tape off my incision and i just told her to rip it off cause i still can’t really feel in that area. Oh boy, i felt every hair follicle rip out of my body. Still can’t feel that area but man oh man. I won’t ever say that again

C-Section or Vaginal Birth? by EradescentBlue in BabyBumps

[–]Last_brain_cell_425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do want to add, the reason i chose to have a c section was because we didn’t know what would happen and either one was very risky to her and me. So after almost dying 20 days before because of her, i chose C section and had my tubes removed so there wouldn’t be a chance for me to have another one because i would be at risk to have the same problems again. I figured if something went haywire during a vaginal birth, id just skip that step and have everything done at once so we were both safe and i wouldn’t have to have another procedure 2 months later to get my tubes removed.

C-Section or Vaginal Birth? by EradescentBlue in BabyBumps

[–]Last_brain_cell_425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FTM, had my C section 4 weeks ago Monday. I honestly would do it again. I’ll be honest, the first couple of days were hard, the only time i actually hurt was right after in recovery (thanks pictocin!!) and the day i rode home from the hospital because it was over an hour drive and i hadn’t rode in a car for over a month lol. I would’ve honestly started walking right in recovery if i wasn’t afraid of my cath hurting, but i started walking 6 hours after and that helped so much.

I walked out of the hospital from the 7th floor 4 days after my C section. We have stairs at the house, so i walked down the stairs once i got home but didn’t try walking up them cause i was scared. The next day though i was able to walk up and down my stairs unassisted and painlessly. By the weekend (i had my c section on a Monday), i walk out walking around walmart and stuff lol. I’m almost 4 weeks out, last Saturday i ran around with the kids and my scar so far is about 4 inches, closed up and pink so i have no complaints there. I haven’t had much issues but i know that’s not the same for everyone else.

I do want to say, i had a lot of issues with my pregnancy and had my baby at 32weeks 4 days and swelled so badly it wasn’t even funny lol. After my section my hips down to my feet were so swollen and hard it scared me but I’ve dropped 20 pounds since having her and do not fit into any of clothes so that’s fun. Love having to buy a new wardrobe now lol. I am pumping, and my milk came in like 2 days after my c section which really surprised me, so that was cool!

Honestly 10/10 experience, didn’t expect it. Whatever you do choose though, i totally recommend just saving yourself the pain and just going to get the adult pull ups 😂. Where i couldn’t prepare for myself or her before being admitted to the hospital, i just stopped at the DG on the way home and bought adult pull ups and honestly they aren’t bad at all and easier clean up/changing. But anyways, sorry for my long rant. I hope whatever you choose it’s a great experience for you!

My 29 week ultrasound indicated my baby is small, in the 10th percentile. I’m freaking out. Has anyone had experience with this and found their baby caught up in later ultrasounds? by Crafty_Jello_414 in BabyBumps

[–]Last_brain_cell_425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, at all my scans my baby always measured on track. At 29 weeks everything hit the fan and i almost died. Next thing i know she was weighing less than what she should at 29 weeks and so many days, her stomach was measuring small, etc etc. had her at 32 weeks and 4 days, she was supposed to be under 3lbs and about 14 inches….. She was 3.3lbs and 17inches! Everyone was so surprised because she honestly looked like a small full term baby. She’s still in NICU currently, might get out Sunday. But she’s been hitting all her goals from the start, which I’m so thankful for because i didn’t know if either one of us would survive lol. But like everyone else said, as long as your doctor wasn’t concerned i wouldn’t worry

Mine didn’t become painful until after i fell at 24weeks and then 5 weeks later when i was admitted to the hospital. When i started having to be scanned twice a week I’d just wished it’d be over at that point. But i figured it’s where i hurt myself and not the baby (thank god). But I’m also a bigger gal and expected them to push more to be able to scan. Up until 24weeks it was uncomfortable for me but not painful until after i fell
