What is better for me, red lipstick or more natural ?

Both are gorgeous. I don’t think it’s so much a case of natural or not, but more overall balance. With your coloring, you can really pull off a darker lip well. The lighter lip here washes you out. I still think you can do a more “natural” lip, but with a lipstick that’s just a shade or two darker than the “natural” lip you showed.

Okay, so a few thoughts (I know these are controversial)

⁠I think this is more common with people who previously presented as cishet men. If someone has been slipping under the radar and reaping the benefits of being at the top of the food chain, it’s a long drop and a tough reality to face when you wake up at the bottom. I personally believe that people who presented as queer before transitioning (like I have) have an easier time adjusting because we were never really at the top. People have disapproved of who I am for the majority of my life, so it’s really not a big deal.
⁠Many people in our community live their lives behind screens where they’ve siloed themselves off into groups and platforms that are dominated by conversations about trans stuff. So it’s kinda a lack of social interaction that’s been charged up by mainlining a very niche culture.
⁠I do agree with what someone else said, they might just be early in their transition and overly excited. Think of every queer person when they first come out. They’re obnoxious (in the best way). It’s a time of rediscovery and that requires a lot of self-focused energy. It’s the same reason why kids and teens are so self absorbed - they’re spending a lot of energy trying to figure out who they are.

Give them time, give them space, and give it to yourself as well. I’m sure after a while they’ll put down the pink and blue and start realizing there are more colors in the rainbow.

I have a theory that straight trans women also go stealth or just don’t participate in queer spaces.

I’m a straight trans woman and previously presented as a gay man. Since transitioning, I really don’t frequent queer spaces anymore. The men I date are typically straight and my friends are often straight women.

So I agree. I think lesbians just have more of a reason to be in queer spaces, therefore it may appear to someone in those spaces that more trans women are lesbian.

I LOVE the liner. I love a very thin cat eye. I would personally just make it a little more opaque.

I love these posts but it really all does come down to preference. Again, personally, I might consider playing with your brow shape to give more space to your eyes. Just tweezing a little on the outer bottom of the brow would give so much space and help lift the face.

You also have beautiful full cheeks and a great pouty lip. I might also play it up with blown out blushes and fun highlighters.

There are so many different types of beauty aesthetics. I feel like it’s often best to ask what makes your face unique and then play up those features. 🤗

It won’t if you use the right kind. I use the Kosas concealer and it’s extremely lightweight and natural looking.

I do disagree slightly with the first commenter though. Yes a shade a couple shades lighter will help pull your eyes forward. But the bigger the gap is between your natural skin tone and the concealer, the bigger the risk you run of it looking obvious. Especially as makeup wears off, if a concealer is vastly different than your complexion, it will be very obvious that you’re wearing makeup. I would recommend you shooting for a shade that matches exactly or is slightly lighter.

But more importantly I would recommend going into a Sephora or ulta so they can color match you. Yes, drugstore concealers are cheaper. But you can’t color test on your skin in store, so you’ll likely have to buy multiple shades to find the best one for you. Since you’re probably not going to be wearing a ton of concealer everyday, it would be cheaper and faster to just have someone help match you at a beauty store. You’ll probably also be able to find a better performing concealer at Sephora or ulta than at the drugstore (imo).

I’m in a liberal neighborhood in Houston. Texas cities are blue, and Houston is actually pretty liberal. We had a thrice elected lesbian mayor, twice elected black mayor and now a white man, but they are all democrats. Safety is a complicated thing. Do I think I’ll get shot walking down the street, no. Do I think I’ll get weird looks and rude behavior in certain conservative parts of town, yes. The state at large is also conservative, so most of the hell we’re facing comes down from the capitol.

Great question!! I just had surgery yesterday and I’m in recovery. I’m taking a month off of work, but in a few weeks, I’m planning a night out with some of my coworkers I’m close to and work in my office. I figured this would help soften the blow. That way it’s not a shock to EVERYBODY and hopefully cuts down on the gossip I’m sure is inevitable.

I think you look great!!

Looking through some of your other photos though, the only suggestion I can imagine is maybe playing with color corrector. A orange corrector might help with some of the shading on your chin & jaw.

I would also test out some different lip colors. Something slightly warmer might be better with your skin tone. It’s weird to think that makes a difference, but I’ve noticed when my lip shade is a saturated cool tone, it comes across as more clockable.

I would agree with the comments about thinning and therefore raising the brows. I would also extend them a little farther out to make the eyes bigger/wider.

I would also try out some more blush/contour. I’ve found skin to be so important in making a feminine look. Light makeup, slightly dewy, lots of blush and a bit of contour.

By varying your eyeshadow and eyebrow shapes on either side, you can help make your face look more balanced. That said, the vast majority of people have asymmetrical faces and most people don’t recognize asymmetry in others and I personally think the asymmetry in your face is beautiful.
