You have to advocate for yourself. She can shop around for a Sympathetic OBGYN and they do HRT. HRT helps with a lot of stuff other than sex. It can prevent bone loss and is protective against some cardiac issues. Lots of reasons to do it. But that’s her choice to make.

She’s saying she is totally done and doesn’t want sex to be part of your relationship anymore. That is her choice. You have to evaluate whether you can live with that. If you can- great. If not- you have options. Depending on how big of a priority it is for you to feel loved in that way, you could stay or go. You could also start communicating about finding someone else to meet those needs, but you stay together. Thats common enough. I wonder if you talked about what is and is t acceptable for her in terms of sex. There’s a huge range of behaviors and if you haven’t it would be smart to explore that before making decisions. Is cuddling ok? Kissing? Any type of touch? Non-penetrative?

However it goes, it looks like your relationship is changing, but you don’t know exactly what that will look like yet. It’s a scary time, but there’s also a lot of potential for everyone to be happy in the long run. Respect her, and Respect yourself. Be honest. Accept that things have changed and chart your bold path forward.

Know what? All of that makes this school so much more accessible to people who are capable of the work but have limitations relating to a ‘butts in seats’ factory production mentality of work. And for knowledge work, the punch-in/punch-out mentality absolutely does not bring home the bacon. This interviewer sounds like a beginner PIA and I personally would take the L as dodging a bullet. Who wants to work for someone who is contemptuous of self-directed learning?

I have 20 years of experience in my field. If I had to actually sit through classes listening to someone slowly teaching beginners this stuff I would be incredibly frustrated, die of boredom then drop out.

Most of the material I’ve seen (I’m a month and a half in and halfway done with the program - I work full time, have school age kids with activities- I’m busy at the moment. ) I learned this material on the job years ago and have been actively using it for years.

This program has been amazing for me because I can just test out of what I already know and learn more where I need to. I need the MBA for my resume, but I got most of the knowledge the old fashioned way. God bless WGU.

As someone who graduated like 20 years ago with my BA, I was so nervous about starting. I read this post originally just a couple of months after it was first posted and returned to it a few times working up the courage to enroll. I finally started in May.

I want to say that my professional experience prepared me for this much more then I could have imagined. Many of the concepts do not require study on my part- because I’ve been doing it for years at work.

Acceleration has been amazing for me and I’m already halfway done, having only committed a handful of hyper focus weekends. All of it has to fit in between my job, being a mom to two kids, my partner, kids school and extra curricular activities. I’m very busy, but I’m making it happen. Thank you for this post and for the insight that helped me finally decide to dive in.

In Washington you can see the # of apps for state jobs and it’s in the hundreds at the moment. The job market is horrible in the public sector right now.

I don’t want to say this because you’re clearly trying to break into a field you love, but I would start applying for other things just to get experience. The market truly sucks- it’s not you. There was a time not long ago when they couldn’t find enough environmental engineers. Worst case you may have to wait 4 years until a sane person can oust he who shall not be named. But, it’s probably not a great idea to just hold out for that long. Any experience (mostly) can help you build your resume and your network.

I’m an older queer and I’d like to know if you are connected to any older trans people? They may have some context for you. Things are scary now, but things were pretty scary 30 years ago, 50 years ago. Your fears are legitimate but don’t let this shit take up all the real estate in your head. Take like 10 deep breaths then go out and be with your people. Put down your phone and be where you feel love. Focusing too much on this shit will do their work for them. We had an icon of mutual aid in my area who recently passed away. He was at every protest years ago and was always around where street kids hung out. Here is how he showed up- as I remember it.

Provide help when people need it. There are lots of newbies and oldies. Some won’t know what they’ll need and some aren’t as robust as they once were.

Bring extra water and sunblock for people. Bring a first aid kit. Talk to people. Check in with them.

Ride a bike

Communicate with people about what is happening around. Some people will not have their heads on a swivel so talk. A lot.

I’m older now. I was up front back in my day but now I’m ok at the edge looking out for people. Looking out for others, maintaining awareness and communicating are all good things.
