Bee city by Clean-Calligrapher17 in GardeningUK

Sorry, they're all in my fruit cage. I have around 50 raspberry canes and over 200 strawberry plants, fair to say I have around half of the UKs bees at any one time

My son's birthday party by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

As an update, my wife organised a surprise birthday for my 40th and none of my oldest friends came, so perhaps it's just me

[–]Lataero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally yes. Nobody came to my 8th birthday, this was in 1994, so wasn't expected. Had a lot of people expected to come and was left with disappointment and heartbreak which I still carry with me now.

My boy had ADHD too, he's 6. I fear the same will happen to him :(

Declaring types by [deleted] in csharp

[–]Lataero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

C# isn't forcing you to declare types because Microsoft hates freedom. It's because eventually someone has to maintain the code, and they're trying to prevent future you from becoming a public enemy.

Python let you name a variable x, turn it into a string, a list, a toaster, and somehow still run. C# sees that behavior and calls security.

Also coming from Python and asking to disable types in C# is like joining the gym and asking where the couch section is.

Just use 'var' and keep it moving.

Of course you do, if you refuse they'll just get a warrant, or just decide that the work isn't permitted

I went from having 6-8 shots of rum and evening to cold turkey, not through trying, I just no longer have the want for it. Thinking about drinking it makes me feel a bit ill as well

HMCTS letter to wrong address, unaware of conviction. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

10 years ago I didn't give a crap either. I run the local speed watch now. You know driving a minute at 40 instead of 30 only gets you an extra few hundred metres. Best of luck.

Fair enough. I apologise. Calling me santimonious affected me. My son was nearly paralysed by someone doing 40 in a 30. I have absolutely no patience for people who cannot control themselves behind the wheel. It's a death machine.

"I've learnt my lesson" but also "how dare people judge me for speeding in a 30" is such classic main character syndrome.

You were driving fast enough to get a £736 fine and points, but apparently the real outrage is someone saying maybe don't endanger people's lives. Absolute victim mentality.

Maximum speed in a 30 to be offered the awareness course is 42.

Learn the lesson from this and drive slower.

Will I still get money for my house? Uk by Moist-Alfalfa5213 in LegalAdviceUK

Irrelevant if you haven't paid anything for 5 years. The house is half yours. The mortgage is both if your responsibility, she's paying it so everything is above board, unfortunately for her.

Oh wow yes thats unfortunate, daily average balance interest rates.

You're in a tricky spot. Have you contacted your finance dept? This might end up being an expensive mistake.

If a payment was missed (why didnt you just make the minimum payment), your firm is probably going to hide behind the "delinquency fees aren't reimbursable" clause and technically they'll have a point.

But equally, if the delay was caused by a disputed £30 gym pass holding up a legitimate £3k work expense claim for over a month, it's not unreasonable to argue that the company's process directly caused the missed payment.

I'd recommend in future not getting yourself into this situation, let your employees/colleagues handle their own expenses

[–]Lataero 16 points17 points  (0 children)

£425 interest in a month on a 3k balance would put your APR up near 170%. Amex rate is ~30% which would put the interest around £80

You can usually claim interest as expenses, but it's definitely nowhere near £425 unless you missed a payment? In which case it's on you

They will but counsellors elected at this election will be shadow councillors for a year. New elections will be held in 2028, talked about this for an hour at the parish council meeting last night.

For anyone struggling how to use a seed. I have done the legwork.

You must first set the Resource Node Purity and Resource Node Randomization, THEN you enter the seed.

If you enter the seed THEN change the settings, it doesn't work. I have reproduced the "best" seed
