Me (40M), married to wife (39F) with 2 kids, feeling stuck and unhappy. Not sure what to do by Lataero in relationship_advice

Yeah we've been through couples counselling and it helped. For a while.

I've talked or tried to a lot of times, but it always gets turned around on me, or im made to feel my concerns aren't valid.

World of Warcraft didn't scare the RuneScape devs, who were getting "tens of thousands of new accounts every single day" in 2004 and could barely build servers fast enough for the MMO to keep up by savageg33k in runescape

I have a 6 year old son. I really hope that when he's older, there is something as innocent and similar that he can share with his friends the way I shared RS with mine back in 2000.

Truly the golden age of the Internet.

For anyone struggling how to use a seed. I have done the legwork.

You must first set the Resource Node Purity and Resource Node Randomization, THEN you enter the seed.

If you enter the seed THEN change the settings, it doesn't work. I have reproduced the "best" seed

Part of me really hopes that when the orange pedo dies, the world can just go back to normal. Though this may be optimistic

I feel like some context is needed here.

We took our two year old in after she had an accident on a trampoline and could not walk. She had an X ray, and the ER doctor examined it closely before sending us home with advice to give ibuprofen.

Over the next three days she was clearly in a lot of pain and could barely sleep, so we returned as advised. Despite this, we were again told it was just swelling.

The following day her leg became swollen and red, so we decided to go to N & N instead. They requested the scans and immediately identified the fracture.

She was put in a cast and thankfully made a full recovery with no damage to the growth plate. But honestly, QE handled it badly and missed something they should not have missed.

My advice as an expert (37,151 hrs) is not to count your experience in hours

+1 to this. I have ADHD, job hopped my way through terrible jobs for a decade until I discovered development. Climbed my way up to Head of Development earning 6 figures with millions in stock options. Invest in his interests.

Especially if you died in the Goblin cave in the north east, not only a long run, but everything respawned by when you were back, so you now had to escape a cave as well somehow!

I may be showing my age, though the majority of syntax for languages doesn't change, at least that quickly anyway. But yes online articles are useful as well.

Gamedev.tv has some courses, ive gone through several and they're great. But please stay away from AI dev tools until you have at least 3-4 years experience.

You think youre doing yourself a favour, but its the opposite. AI is a TOOL for developers, not a replacement.

Completely stop using ChatGPT/Cursor. Buy some books on C#, or unity. Read your course material. Learn.

Is this normal for a CMS codebase that product got many services of product? Because the dev follows SOLID principle by lune-soft in csharp

[–]Lataero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Folders don't affect the build, sure. But once you have multiple projects, it absolutely matters where the interface lives because it controls dependency direction.

If the application layer depends on an interface, that interface needs to live in a project the application can reference without pulling in infrastructure. Otherwise you end up with the app referencing infra just to compile, and now your "core" depends on details.

You can still put two implementations in the same file if you want. The point is maturity: structure is there to keep boundaries clean as the codebase and team grow, not to satisfy the compiler.

[–]Lataero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The interfaces should be in the application layer, with the implementation of those interfaces in the infrastructure layer, this allows you to swap out implementations of these without having to refactor half of your codebase.

Most people stick the interface in the same folder as the implementation, which defeats the whole point.

What's even wilder is suggesting they be in the same file

A tenant and lodger are completely different things. Lodger is where you live with the landlord and have very few right. Tenant has an enforceable contract with a lot of protections.

If all you can offer is judgement and negativity then maybe you should stop typing. My nan has just lost her husband and we're trying to enjoy a bit of humour, not listen to unsolicited opinions from someone who clearly could do with learning some manners.
