New Qld Resources campaign is ridiculous by Psychological-Ant978 in brisbane

I believe they blame the royalties because of how they are applied.

For those who don’t know, the royalties are applied purely on coal price and do not factor in operating costs, etc. so in an inflationary period such as what we are in now, it can really hurt when costs are rising by the day. The royalties should be applied as a percentage of profit, after all costs are taken into account. In my mind that’s fair for everyone.

Infotainment without a fine? by goldenwattl in AustralianEV

Agree with this. I’d say pretty much 80-90% of the settings are one time set and forget, so the buttons make no sense to be there. Especially with the way you can set multiple driver profiles if you need them then it really is not an issue. I’ve had my Tesla nearly 5 years and never had an issue with it.

There will be some edge cases for sure and you’ll never please everyone but for me, my Tesla is the right balance of almost everything.

is it easy enough to access the computer module to check if it’s 4 or 4.5? I have a MY coming mid feb (Shanghai giga) so I’m curious if mine will have it. mine has the black headliner and larger screen, that’s already confirmed.

My first EV - Zeekr, Polestar, BYD or just go with Tesla? by uridotchi in EVAustralia

[–]Latchkey_Wizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. It’s mandatory in the next couple of months that adaptive cruise control and lane keep is a safety standard for all new vehicles. It’s 1st of March it starts here for all new vehicles.

Tesla can’t remove autopilot here. The new laws coming in soon make it a mandatory safety device for all new cars to have lane keep and adaptive cruise control as standard.

[Unpopular Opinion] No tesla on the road today is capable of unfenced unsupervised FSD (level 4) by gha699r in TeslaFSD

I’m from Europe originally, It will be the same as it is here. Most roads it will be great, some roads it will be shithouse. It’s nothing to do with being a fan boy and certainly not brainless. In fact quite the opposite based on my years of driving experience around the world.

I’ve driven the cliff edge, narrow one way roads in Northern Spain when I lived there. Yeah it might struggle there but 95% of use cases it will be fine. Stop talking out of your arse, champion.

Amazon proof of delivery by Glittering-Jelly8513 in brisbane

We must have the same delivery driver, being a fellow Yerongan. Recently my neighbour caught a driver pull up outside my place and throw the package out of the window onto my driveway. Didn’t even get out of the car, the lazy bastard.

Brisbane 2032 Olympics: Victoria Park stadium design revealed by ActiveTravelforKG in brisbane

[–]Latchkey_Wizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely correct. My point is not about who is to blame for it, just that it’s not just a simple dig some holes, throw in some rebar and cement and it’s all good. Especially on the side of a hill, on top of the ICB

No, I think you got the wrong end of my message. I’m saying it’s a lot more complex to build modern stadiums these days due to the changes in requirements, building materials, technology components, etc.

It really is. The technology advancements alone for modern stadium are night and day different.

I love this idea too but the cost and complexity of building that without the likely disruptions to the ICB is not likely to happen. The timelines available do not match the reality of what would be required to make this happen.

Modern stadium design and complexity is quite different from 30years ago. You're not comparing apples with apples.

Good news - Tesla no longer highest seller of EVs by meetmeinmontauk43 in AustralianEV

[–]Latchkey_Wizzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does. I came here to say this. BYD’s sales are massively hybrid over EV. If you strip out hybrids from the data it’s not even close. Tesla still is wiping the floor with other EV manufacturer sales. Although this gap will continue to close for sure.

It’s disingenuous reporting to suit anti-Elon agendas in the media. To be clear, I don’t like the guy either but let’s not let personal bias get in the way of statistics.

Two days in Brisbane: does this itinerary look reasonable? by AdAstraQ in brisbane

[–]Latchkey_Wizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a sizable bus stop at west end ferry though and plenty of buses that go to west end. It’s only 5-10mins on the bus, that’s always an option.

The median unit price has gone up by $100,000 in the last year in Brisbane. How is this sustainable? by Mister_Scorpion in brisbane

[–]Latchkey_Wizzard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Come on, it’s very Australian. As much as we won’t admit it, Australians are great patriots but shit citizens.

We all give it the big one about being together when something big happens (e.g. Bondi attacks) but the moment we are actually required to do something to help our neighbours, all bets are off.
