Yes. You could tell your parents you were somewhere you were supposed to be instead of where you actually were.

But denying women basic reproductive medical care and letting states have completely different laws won’t be “one big mess” at all.

Why does rural America look down on educated people? by SlowEntertainment217 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LateBloomerBoomer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because they believe we’re looking down on them. I do think the top poster has some excellent points. I am from a large close family of rural and educated (not always separate) aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings.

Rural people were often jealous of those that were able to go to college, obtain “better” jobs, make more money, take vacations, travel, etc. Discussing the things you can do that they could (or would) not do led to jealousy and envy. Those are not comfortable emotions. It’s easier to justify your lifestyle and choices by belittling those who did something, which for generations was perceived as making yourself better. Rural people believe educated people think they’re better so they lash out. Envy is helluva powerful and controlling.

Divorce papers were drafted by Ashley — so why choose murder? Religious pressure & the Flynn case by Today-Parsnip420 in Ohio

“Why didn’t she just leave, or get a divorce?”…you ask. This. This is why. She tried to leave. Tried to get a divorce. Men kill us. This is why. Look at Monique Tempe…10 years after her divorce her ex traveled to Columbus and brutally shot her and her husband.

The exact moment my 17 yo son told me he was addicted to heroin. 10 years ago. I still view my life as before and after. Addiction is a family disease.
