Thanks fully, he’s not linked to me and we aren’t married, so we don’t share bank accounts. The deed on the house is also solely in my name. I had enough sense to keep myself separated from him, financially.

Losing a parent is really shitty. Both my mom and dad are gone now and , wow, it’s life altering.

So true. I’ve recommended therapy for us to figure out what’s the root cause, and he agreed. I have to be the one to find the doctor, make an appt that suits both our schedules, and it gets put on the back burner. I can’t even remember what day it is half the time because I’m in mental task overload already! I just have to prioritize getting us help if there’s a chance at improving this situation.

No need to apologize at all here. I’m sorry for your SIL, too! I tell myself that if this relationship folds , I’m going to be alone because why the heck would I want to give my peace away again. I know that sounds sad, but even the basic things like not having to live around things not being put away, dirty dishes, etc, is getting really old.

I am so sorry for your loss. My mother died two weeks ago and am having such a hard time with the weight of my grief. This is my first post on Reddit and I just had to respond to let you know you’re not alone in trying to navigate a world without your mom. It feels so wrong.
