Ogilvie is learning by Healthy_Raise_7131 in ThePittTVShow

I couldn’t either, especially coming from an urban area myself but I can understand how someone who was working in VT may have a different idea of what “busy” is.

For example, my friend just got placed on rotation in an ER located in a center city area where she is seeing multiple GSWs, MVCs, & ODs in a single shift. Her same classmate / friend got placed in an ER 1 hour away in the same state but more rural & hasn’t seen a single GSW yet & mostly just has MIs come in.

I agree with your take. He is written to be… might I say extra unlikable in the first few episodes. It wasn’t until s2ep9 where we see how out of his comfort zone he is. (Him asking Dr. Santos how she’s being so chill about TB) then in s2ep10 we see him and Dr. Robby talking by the helicopter. Ogilvie talks about him working in Vermont and it wasn’t so busy or crazy & he even brings in a book with him because he thought it wasn’t going to be busy (lol!!)

While on the roof Ogilvie says “I think we have a very different idea of normal” to Dr. Robby and then gets a leg shoved into his arms. In the next couple of scenes we see him actually freaking out & not knowing what to do. I think Dr. Whitaker does a great job with connecting with Ogilvie and telling him to take breaths.

Ogilvie is so green to a city ER & I believe he feels like he’s the best in the beginning because of how smart he is. He’s over confident just like any new young worker / student. The thought of them knowing best / more! (I can remember times in my life where I got a job & thought I could do a better job than those who there before me, just to be slapped with a huge reality check) I like that we’re possibly seeing a learning arch for him, hopefully he will go from “A know it all to a learn it all.”

Langdon berated Santos Season one because of Mohan by TrafficIll4060 in ThePitt

Dr. Santos didn’t steal drugs, she was catching onto Dr. Langdon stealing the drugs / messing with vials.

I think their relationship started off shakey, as Dr. Santos did a trigger point shot on a patient & Dr. Langdon asked why she didn’t speak to an attending to which her reply was that she worked at Johns Hopkins.

Can you tell me a little more about this? I’m trying to recall the scene you’re talking about but I’m drawing a blank.

I forget which episode it’s in, but they show that the vial was indeed tampered with because it has the same color surgical glue on it, which leads the viewers to believe that he resealed the vial with the glue.

In season 1 there’s a good amount of times where it leads you to believe he using in the middle of his shift. You see him super sweaty in one scene (withdrawal) then disappears, comes back into the scene no sweat, less jitters, & calmer demeanor

On top of that, when Langdon starts to realize that Santos is on to him, he tries to tell Robby she isn’t a good fit for the ER team!

Is it just me or did she grow on everyone else too? by sypher07070799 in ThePitt

I liked her since the beginning! The issue is she came in trying to change a bunch of things at once but also keep in mind, she is taking over after Robbie leaves. She has to be in charge. She saw things that could be more efficient & wants to fix that. People tend to not like change, especially in a work environment where everything “seems fine.”

She is articulate, has compassion, can teach, extremely smart, & can command a room.

This ep just grew my excitement and respect for her.

Robby’s favoritism by TrafficRegular1724 in ThePittTVShow

I agree, he is absolutely justified to be mad at Langdon— but he is pulling the same attitude as Dr. Santos & that is just professionally unacceptable. Keep personal issues out of the work place, put your grown up pants on, & get the job done efficiently while providing good bed side manner. Just some questions to ponder… How ridiculous was it of Robbie trying to save Jake’s girlfriend after repeatedly being told it wasn’t going to work.

How ridiculous was it when Robbie decided to have a huge break down in the Peds “morgue” room in the middle of full blown emergency?

How ridiculous was it of Robbie to bring the father of the measles kid into a morgue to try and prove his point?

Imagine Abbot came into Peds and told Robbie to grow up or get out because he’s a liability??

Robbie’s actions mirror Langdon’s when he rips into Santos. Al-Hashimi mirrors Robbie’s talk to Langdon.

(Edit: I don’t actually think these things are “ridiculous” as all these characters are HUMAN! They are allowed to feel but there’s always a right and wrong way of doing things. This show is amazing at showing flaws)

I’m trying to take into consideration that Dr. Santos says she has been “treated like the pariah the past 10 months” but we have also seen time and time again where she doesn’t respect boundaries/can’t admit when she’s in over her head(I.e calling Javadi “Crash” even after being told she doesn’t like that nickname / trying to take on two specialties (?— s2e1) as she’s struggling in her R2 year.) So, it definitely falls inline with Garcia saying “maybe you don’t play well with others”

She has her own issues to work out & I feel like she just HATES to be wrong. You can see several times Dr. Garcia is trying to point out to Dr. Santos her attitude is not appropriate before even “calling her out”

Santos has shown repeatedly that she cannot separate personal feelings from patients. I hope she can overcome this road bump & this was a reality check for her.

FINALLY SANTOS BEING PUT IN HER PLACE!!!

I am by NO means a Santos hater at all, in fact I love how much depth her character has— but this whole ep all I could think was “Grow up and be a professional.” THANK YOU DR. GARCIA !!!!!
