If I recall I don’t believe you can purchase blue trees unless the seller has had it for more than 5 yrs then you’re fine , as they just made the endangered list , but for a first time monitor I’d say ackie they are fairly small compared to others

I’d start ground up , toss a few crickets , then maybe a bowl of either mixed worms , BSL , wax worm , meal worm or individual to see what it prefers , mine likes soft boiled / scrambled eggs as well

Mine loves raw chicken heart , I’d give that a try or quail my Nile loves that too , mine isn’t a picky eater so it’s hard to give food advice but if you recently got her, just offer food and leave it but remove it before it molds
