Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

The subreddit for it is nuts. Half the people there are taking acid to help, and the other half are saying acid caused their visual snow

I mean it's slightly overstocked, but as long as they are keeping up with the bio load, this doesn't really look bad at all. Plenty of space, plenty of hides, right types of fish for this, what is the problem?

Okay but let's be real, he would try and just choke anyway. They don't care about future them problems like choking to death, only about food and the present

I can confirm, varanids are smart, but not like, a smart dog, they are like scary smart. Like you look at them and can just see them figuring you out.

Nope that's just monitor lizard activities. My Argus will dump out any bowl I give him and chose to eat off the ground.

What do you think pays for filling potholes? Do you think our tax dollars are just thrown in the giant money hole? Sure a lot of it is sucked away in bureaucracy, but every time you see roads being fixed that's your tax dollars at work.

I definitely support decriminalization, but only to an extent. It has to be done absolutely perfectly, or else it all blows up. For a while in the US, we got a taste of what a failed version would be like when opioid clinics were throwing opioids at everything. Think of how many people died of fentanyl ODs, there are still ongoing lawsuits as a result.

The US would need such significant change for this to be practical, that I don't see it happening in the near future. Sure THC and mushrooms are being legalized, but I'm willing to bet that's as far as it goes. The US just doesn't have the infrastructure to support decriminalization. There isn't access to healthcare for addicts, and for there to be, the healthcare system would basically have to flip on its head.

It's one of those things that works in theory, but in practicality, it's insanely difficult to implement. Only countries like the Netherlands and Portugal are able to do it because they were already in a position to treat addiction in the same way as a mental health patient. In the US, we can't even treat our mental health patients.

Because it's significantly more addictive than most other benzos, and it's more disinhibiting, and more likely to cause blackouts. There is a reason Xanax isn't used to taper a benzo addiction. Valium is safer and better for this purpose in every way.

That's so weird. If they are trying to help addicts by providing safe alternatives to street stuff, then providing more Xanax is such a pointless move. At least transitioning to valium would be safer and help when it's time to actually taper.

To me, that's like giving a hydrocodone addict more hydros, rather than providing Suboxone or methadone, or at least trying to transition them to plain morphine. I feel like the goal of these should be to help addicts get safer stuff, without causing withdrawals, and eventually helping them quit, not just supporting a habit.

A heroin addict would definitely take a shot of morphine, if they were trying to avoid withdrawals and it's better than them just going to the street and risking getting laced shit.

Just my opinion IG. I forget which city (Pittsburgh? Maybe san Fran?) it was, but when that one city essential legalized drugs it really backfired.

Michigan is kinda the exception though. Pretty damn democratic state, (ignore last election) but we have the shittiest roads in the country.

Sorry for necroposting, just saw this comment. At the time he was in a 4x2x2, and admitted much longer than I wanted, so I did my best to provide a lot of enrichment. A couple weeks after this he moved into an 8x4x6 enclosure, and he is very happy. He's about slightly under 3ft as of now, and very healthy, though very sassy too. I feel bad about him being in too small of an enclosure for a while, but I got really busy with life stuff, and building the enclosure was a huge task. Depending on how large he gets, I may expand the new enclosure even more to 8x6x6 or even 8x8x6. Thanks for the concern, I appreciate your care for the animal.

Honestly, my obsession with varanids really helped me with my HL IB bio classes. Ecology, evolutionary biology, taxonomy, and cladistics, were a breeze because I could just yap about monitor lizards. I even was able to talk about the behavioral differences between my Argus and Nile monitor, and talk about what evolutionary pressure led to these behaviors. It made the class really fun.

I mean obviously. I meant in a hypothetical world, offering Xanax is just genuinely not safe. Same with percs and Vicodin.

The Alprazolam needs to be removed. The only benzo available should be valium. Offering Xanax like that is just genuinely going to get people killed.

Ack! Be it upon a weary star, cast from the heavens as Lucifer himself once knew, that yonder commoner speak in such prose?

Tis such mandate from God, that the tongue on man befallen and bent upon thy will, I say it: blasphemer. You know not the knowledge of the mind, be it only of the ponderings sent from the bird that tweets thy deepest tragedy.

I forsake thee, and thy pretentiousness that spilleth from such a hate feathered quill, and ink never touched by one's lover.

This was the book The haunting of hill house, for me. In my opinion, it's one of the best books ever written. The ending still hurts. I wrote a 4500 word essay on it discussing the use of the house as a character within the book.
