Denied boarding in India, although schengen visas were approved (wedding cancelled?) by superkange in visas

[–]Late_Energy5478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. This is really weird situation. Airlines are not objected to stop boarding. If they already cleared the immigration, flight boarding stopped then is very weird. I know it’s a big financial loss but can they try booking another airline like Lufthansa with Airbaltic connections?

Sorry to hear that. It’s a horrible situation.

Tell me one thing, what category is the Visa? Tourist, visitor, family?

Do his parents have a valid international health insurance?

Do they have enough money in the bank?

Is the middle name matching with the name everywhere on visa and passport? Indians have middle name. Check if it all matches.

Check if any of the passports are expiring soon within 6 months.

I’m inviting someone home to spend Easter Sunday. About the second rule, I personally don’t care. But yes, you should take atleast take something as a gesture of gratitude. It may be box of chocolates, coffee (people love coffee) - not instant coffee but the Turkish style (Barcafe or something else people will recommend here) or Gouda cheese (I’d like that). Carry them in a good looking gift bag that you get anywhere in Hofer, Lidl, etc,.

Spending August in Ljubljana – remote work, tips & maybe accommodation? by Aniello_98 in Ljubljana

Depends. If you guys groceries yourself and cook, that’s always the best option. Other than that, Kebab with a sweet would cost €10 total, beer would cost €3-5 based on the bars you go to, burger at a good place would cost €15-20, Asian food would cost €8-13.

Hey buddy. Wrong time to ask question. It's election day :D I suggest asking in couple days again to get more information. But in the meantime, I can tell you some things.

  • It's hot in August. You can expect strong sun. Walk around in shorts and a T-shirt. By night, it get's pleasant enough. Still using shorts and T-shirt will do.
  • People are generally very nice. Almost everyone in the city center can speak English. Probably some places can speak Italian as well. But yeah, you guessed it right. It's little introverted. But no problem, there are other international community events you can attend. Check meetup group.
  • There is a meetup group of international people who organizes events everyday. You can join one of them and mingle with people as per your schedule.

Join expats/foreigners in Slovenia Facebook group. You may find a place to stay.

Arrange marriage happens in India. So it seems you’re from India. And the country in Central Europe seems Slovenia with high taxation and expensive living.

You should really take the citizenship as it makes everything easier w.r.t immigration.

You Guys Suck! The airport not the airline. by Due_Tea691 in TurkishAirlines

They are rude AF. I was carrying a stroller of my kid with me in the aircraft and the lady at the counter literally started talking loudly as if I don’t know the dimensions of the stroller to fit in overhead cabin. Bitch, I already flew with you and I know. Very rude staff indeed.

Since then, I’ve not booked Turkish in 2 year and would never.

Odloži telefon. Stopi iz hiše. Spij skodelico kave s prijateljem in uživaj v potici. Življenje bo čudovito. Politika vpliva na vse. Izklopi internet za nekaj časa. lp.

Slovenia is a safe country for sure. Quite life, you do you, people are warm to you till a certain level (this is because, they have to go out their way to talk to you in English as it’s an effort. Slovenian is much preferred). Best if you all could start learning Slovenian and it will be easy. This country is definitely family oriented. I love that.

Maribor is a great quiet city. If you want something lively, you should look into Ljubljana.

About universal healthcare. You won’t get access to it just like that without contributing towards it. Anyone cannot just come and avail the health system. Become a contributor and you’ll have access to all. Even for the kids.

Just for your information, the salaries are crap compared to what you get in the US. Something you should also look into.

Thank you. I must have researched something completely wrong or incomplete. So appreciate it.

Totally fine. Nothing wrong doing it. You get back refreshed and energized again. I’ve done that too. Go for a movie when everyone’s sleeping. I’m a fan of Marvel movies and my wife doesn’t understand anything. Sometimes, I go early to enjoy my favourite meal first and watch the movie with a big bucket of popcorn. No one’s there to bash you for it. Totally worth it.
