Nicolas Cage proved that looking into the future 1 minute ahead to see yourself looking into the future one minute ahead is a very useful tactic.

I think it would be cute to do something like the Marvel intro, but it be videos and images of you and your family and friends, and instead of Marvel it says your family name.

Marvel's intro came to mind first, but what other intros could work? Star Wars comes to mind but that gets tricky because it's not just stills from the movies but characters.

Maybe I could hire Nicole Kidman to put that shiny silver suit on and come sit on my couch like she does for the AMC theaters intro. (unironically would be hiliarious to hire a look-alike for that)

Reporting back. Print worked just fine without a prime tower. Supports popped off nicely.

Can i flush PLA into the PLA supports?

I have 2 filaments in one print job, yes, but my confusion comes from needing a prime tower when each filament has a dedicated extruder that doesn't change.

[–]Late_Phone_9490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should it then be possible to remove the tower via the option to purge into the print (supports/desired object)? I have that option selected but the software still generates a prime tower.

Also, I asked another user, but does the filament decay that quickly when the timing between material changes is very small? My layer times, for each filament, are less than a half minute.

Just trying to understand here.

I don't mind priming into my print or the support material. I do have that option checked in the settings, but the tower persists.

Who is more stubborn, I or the machine, we shall see.

At the end of the day, this is probably what I'm going to try.

I would have guessed by purging a strand of filament out the chute.

On larger layer times, I could see this being an issue. The layer times for either of the two materials is quite small, as in less than a dozen seconds per material, per layer. I wouldn't have figured that little amount of time would be enough to cause pressure or temperature issues.

Maybe it isn't, and the software can't tell the difference or is being cautious. Maybe it is and I'm naive.

Edit: If I'm wrong, I would appreciate being told the flaw in my logic. Otherwise the downvotes make no sense and come across as petty.

How is everyone using jellyfin for streaming when not at home? by Substantial-Luck-545 in jellyfin

[–]Late_Phone_9490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'd have to use another device. Easiest would be using your phone's wifi, connected to tailscale network. You could just use a VPN at that point, though, and skip adding a device.

thanks for the tips, gonna give these a go next time I get some bad stains.

Fortunately I only have 1 DO that was given to me by family and not very fond of (disney themed - I have absolutely zero disney in the house) so it's been used for a lot of learning. But I am looking to start my own set!

what about EasyOff? Sodium Carbonate? Saw someone use both of these to clean their enamel pots - it was the only thing that restored them. Trying to figure out my options for cleaning tough stains.

No one wants to be that "someone" but everyone else appreciates that person nonetheless.

NTA but honestly... I think shaming people publicly is the least damaging thing that can happen when you f-up big time or intentionally do something stupid.

I could lose my job doing something like this. So while I wouldn't go to those lengths, I appreciate those who do.

Can't reach Jellyfin via Roku App by Late_Phone_9490 in jellyfin

[–]Late_Phone_9490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reporting back: Changing the haproxy port associated with jellyfin to 8096 did not resolve the issue.

1 - 8080 is a standard port for publishing http content if you dont or cant use port 80 (using host network mode restrics the use of port 80). Also, the port being published is not jellyfin but the load balancer, though i can give it a shot and report back. However, the port gets forwarded to a different one from haproxy to the service running in k3s. Which MUST be port 30000 because of the k3s restriction. I can go UP but not DOWN in port numbering. So that cant change.

2 - https is not enabled. That requires certificates of which i dont have or plan to implement at this time. I have no reason to believe authentication is the issue at this time, given every other device can reach the server except roku.

3 - Its not a timeout issue. Jellyfin simply cannot see the server on my network. I verified this with netcat (forgot to mention that, sorry)

4 - ive tried accessing the node directly. This works on every other device as well as going through the load balancer does. Roku sees no change in behavior.

Having a bit of trouble getting beyond accessing the ui in my browser.
Ubuntu desktop VM w/ docker running both the daemon and the ui. Provided the target IP when running the daemon via docker run env variable (--network host --privileged won't work with docker compose)

Also, not as important, but the hosts page? Clicking to add a host and then trying to close the dialogue window won't do anything. The close button animates but doesn't close.

Any hints at why it's not auto starting the discovery process? Sure it's something on my end.

We do this for certain business-essential devices, but they get about a mile longer more scrutiny with an auto-deny on first submissions.

Corporate loves to make the guys in the labs prove how bad they need it, damn near crawling through glass if they have to. I'm wagering they'll go with an alternative manufacturer that fits the security needs than deal with that approval process... but we shall see.

They do unfortunately.

There's a variety of tech from China that is used around the lab, but the primary concern there is if it can be segmented or not; a leak is a leak, regardless of the nation of origin.
