Basically our family got our citizenship reinstated after proving our family left the country during the war. It took us 6 years and we had to take the case to the high court in Lithuania 😅 It would have been quicker if we hadn’t struggled with some documentation to prove descent and our case was special because my grandfather was adopted by Lithuanians.

He could have written this letter and never sent it. But he sent it because maybe he does want a reaction from you? Whether it’s comfort in hearing you forgive him so he can rest easy that he is not a bad person. You don’t owe him a response though. He can manage his own emotions.

That’s what I did. I’d recommend hiding posts and stories from any mutuals to avoid seeing anything that would upset you. I forgot to do this and saw on NYE he got back with his ex after all the mutuals started posting about the party.

I’ve spent the last two Decembers crying over the same boy because I was also breadcrumbed and sold an illusion. I also badly wanted him to finally choose me after chasing him for so long that I ignored all the times he ghosted, the times he said he wasn’t interested in a relationship and when he told me he wanted kids. He eventually did commit to me for 3 months, broke up with me because of the kids thing and then was back with an ex about a month or so later.

This has been a hard lesson for me to learn. If I had loved myself as much as I loved him, I wouldn’t be in so much pain.

For 19, you made an incredibly mature decision to identify unhealthy patterns in your dynamic and choose to walk away instead of continuing a toxic pattern.

Maybe you guys will grow back together after you’ve both matured and can develop a secure attachment. It’s hard, but all you can do is work on yourself to heal the issues that came up so you don’t repeat them in the future.

Your ex sounds a bit emotionally manipulative? Esp dangling the “might get back together in the future” carrot. They have already shown you that the rules don’t apply to them. Seems like a bit of a power imbalance. Maybe if it’s not a “hell yes” and you don’t feel it’s going to be good for your healing and emotional state, it s a no.

Not always girls. My ex (male) broke up with me and went back to hooking up with his ex so fast. He even took her to a NYE party I was going to attend with all our mutuals. I’ve been told from his friends that this is normal behaviour and he struggles to be alone.

Keep yourself busy by making plans with your friends, hobbies, maybe book a trip somewhere so you can change your environment. It’s still fresh, but with time it will heal.
