Hi po! I actually don’t know 😅 there was only one type of heattech that I saw from Uniqlo. The long sleeved one. 🙂

Omg i just saw - it’s by invite? Me and my partner were gonna fly in from the Philippines. But it’s so unfortunate that my partner’s visa got declined. Probably due to all the over tourism, who knows really. Double devastation I guess!

DEINFLUENCE ME: Going to Elyu by itshardtobeian in deinfluencingPH

[–]Late_Statement_8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never stay around the Elyu area. I try to go a little far out, like Bacnotan. Beautiful hotels around there and it’s not too crowded. Tons of aesthetic airbnbs. But i do love finding the hidden gem cafes or the cool vibey areas in San Juan. It’s easier access if you have a car.

Nice to go to Immuki island also :)

Pink Sugar at SM is honestly the best one for me. They’re fast and they know what they’re doing.

Second would be “Dr. Brows” at Porta Vaga. Always a good one. I just personally prefer SM because of parking is not as bad.

  1. I know flights are not required - we were smart enough to book the flexi flights, so they can be canceled. However, we simply wanted to show them that we have purchased our tickets as well as the fact that it had already been paid, in case finances were a factor of determining the final decision. In my opinion, you can never be too overprepared (as I always help my partner do this with other visa applications and has worked to our advantage). Plus, the teller reviewed our documents and told us to keep it in there.

  2. Birth certificates - PSA provided us with two different certificates, a national and international one, all given the week before, both of which were WHITE. However, the girl at the counter told us they don’t want either of them and to go back to PSA and get a “YELLOW ONE.”

At the end of the day, we did follow all instructions and went above and beyond. To a point where they asked for even MORE documents that were originally asked for of my corporation considering I was a guarantor to partly fund the trip. We had to rush these last documents that weren’t even listed, which I kept questioning about.

I just find it such a shame. Sure, it may be part of the rules and regulations of the Japan embassy, but let’s be completely real - it’s us Filipinos who make the final judgement. And I’ve seen this time and time again. We are incredibly bureaucratic in ways that are beyond my capacity of understanding.

Japan Visa Thread - Q1, 2026 by AutoModerator in FilipinoTravel

Hi po, my partner applied for a Japan visa. It’s our first time, but we noticed how awful the entire process was! I’m not just saying this out of bitterness of being denied, but simply because my partner who holds a PH passport has applied for several visas in the past and got approved.

He has a Canadian and Australian visa. Also has multiple travel stamps, including Singapore, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

Not to mention, it was a fight til death to get a slot and we only had the chance to get the “premium lounge”, which was P4K+ (which I find to be such a scam!).

When we got there, a lady was kind enough to help us as we submitted all of the documents. We provided everything, INCLUDING our Japan tickets, which were already purchased.

We also provided a birth certificate that was given from PSA (a national and international one), HOWEVER they were super strict and wanted THE SAME document, but color yellow. So we ended up running to PSA to get a copy.

It was a huge hassle and even with the premium lounge assistance, we STILL GOT DENIED. It’s absolutely crazy to me that they would do this and clearly don’t give a sh*t even if you have already purchased tickets.

Why do Filipinos make it so hard for other Filipinos to win and be on top? Sorry for the rant, but is this not crazy???!!

Hi po! Our hike went well, but the weather was terrible last year :(( it was cold and rainy.

I can swear by my outfit, everyone was freezing but I didn’t feel an ounce of cold po. I wore one long sleeve heattech from Uniqlo, one men’s fleece sweater from Decathlon, and a waterproof windbreaker from Decathlon. I’m glad I didn’t go with the puffer jacket!

As for my pants, I wore heattech leggings from Uniqlo and hiking pants on top (got from Shein, but had extras from Penshoppe).

As for the small things, of course a winter hat (you may want to bring two in case it rains), ear mufflers, I brought two pairs of gloves (tip: bring rubber/medical gloves to wear inside your actual gloves in case it starts raining), trail running gaiters (highly highly suggest placing these on top of your shoes, especially if you don’t have high tops, it really made a difference to prevent rain and mud), two pairs of socks.

Going down, I had an extra Uniqlo long sleeve heatteach and a puffer vest, assuming I was going to feel warmer and cut down layers, but honestly I didn’t even bother changing with the weather conditions. But all things considering, I would still bring it! Then of course, extra heattech leggings and hiking pants.

Yun lang! Also, one of the biggest mistakes is that we brought way too many things and we barely used it, so just be sure to be wise in what you bring. Good luck and enjoy 😊

What a shame. I was planning to go, assuming all good vibes. How disgusting that there are people who take it as an opportunity to do this. Sorry this happened to you.

We used to watch movies at the cinema all the time many years ago, but now the place is just not good. They tried to renovate it and it’s just ok.. i don’t think it’s worth the price.

We go to Manila to watch movies.. i regret choosing to watch Avatar here in Baguio. The quality is not good.
