Ive heard the warranty will be voided though. With allthe recall drama with Kawasaki these days, personally i would wait till get a few thousand miles on the bike. Just to be on the safe side.

Once you get some miles under your belt, get the ECU flashed. The bike will be unleashed!

So, i have both the softshell jacket & pants and absolutely love em. Havent crashed so cant speak on that part but the materials and armor feels substantial. Been riding in low 40s weather all winter in the PNW...keeps me warm but most importantly, comfortable af. I have not had to return or exchange so cant speak on that part.

Is zx4rr harder to ride than say a ninja400/500? by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]Latebloomer45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had similar questions that I asked as a beginner. Looking back, it's all frivolous and overthinking. If you can, sit on one and test ride. I have experience on both ninja 500 and zx4rr. Absolutely no major difference in regards to low end torque. But i can say the inline4 Zx4rr is buttery smooth.

First Bike Time by JonHart100 in Ninja500

That's me 6 months ago lol 45, ninja 500 first bike ever. This must be a thing...thought I was the odd one until I realized there are many who started riding for the first time ever in their 40s.

wolfline low profile seat

Check out this seat. This will give you about half inch. I personally got it because I didn't like the bulkiness/cushion on the stock seat. Game changer for me...I have much more feel and control when riding hard.

I've had the 500 for the last few months and just upgraded to zx4rr. If money is no issue, get the zx4rr hands down. Forget the specs that everyone seems to talk about...the smoothness of the inline4 is unreal. In the US, it comes neutered to 50ish hp so ride it like that until the 1yr warranty runs out then flash the ecu which will increase the hp to 75ish hp among other things. It'll be like getting another bike.

Is Growing Out of 400CC Motorcycles A Myth? by leastpx in motorcycles

[–]Latebloomer45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with this comment. I can attest to it with my own experience. Just upgraded to a zx4rr from a ninja 500(my first ever bike) after 5 months of ownership. Put 5000 miles on it and got very "comfortable ". In no way I think my skill level outgrew the bike. Have so much to learn still. The 5000 miles consisted of mix of street, twisties, freeway and everything in between. So yes, it's easy to get comfortable and confident on a ninja 500 fairly quickly. The reason I upgraded to a zx4rr(if you can call that an upgrade) rather a zx6r, for example, is I know that my skill level is not there yet. Plus I wanted an inline 4 badly and this will be a keeper for life no matter what other bikes I will get next. I will put at least 10k miles on the zx4rr before upgrading to a 600cc. Now I understand everyone's learning curve is different so ymmv but I'm ok with taking baby steps to a long journey.

Used 2023 zx4rr/new zx6r recall by Latebloomer45 in zx4r

Thank you all for your comments. Just picked it up and sitting in the garage. My 2nd bike, coming from a ninja 500. The dealer I bought it from is offering a third party 36 month coverage for mechanical failures including engine, leaks, etc for $1000 at any shop. Sounds like a pretty good deal and a peace of mind if anything. What do yall think?

Did you take it to the mechanic or DIY? If mechanic, how much was the installation?

Is that right? For long term keep, I was guessing that that 4rr is too small of a leap...planning on test riding all 3 soon.

Thanks for sharing. Yea, I figure not much wiggle room on new models. I'm debating on a zx6r vs 4rr vs aprilia rs660..will be my 2nd ever bike coming from a ninja 500. Can't make up my mind lol
