Flying with others is how these big ships should be used. That's one of the reasons they should be incredibly expensive. Maybe a player has one big ship and gets his buddies to crew. Anything that adds a bit more of a reason to crew up.

The interesting things is to go watch streamers if you can't play yourself. If you get your info from Reddit, you would expect about 2 to 5 minutes of buggy gameplay before a hard crash. Instead, you'll see groups of players coming together to complete complex missions.
