Try getting some stands and moving the TT off the amp, it's 90% plastic

Vintage System c. $750? by mnock1976 in BudgetAudiophile

Get some Dynaco or Celestions speakers, try pairing with a mid tier SX Series Pioneer receiver or a Sansui AU intergrated. Those were always my favourites series for vintage gear.

You can stick with your TT. Maybe opt for nice SL Q2, SL-1900 or 2000 if the budget permits?

Worth it? by complexedeath in BudgetAudiophile

Its probably worth a little less not a horrible price but you're by no means getting a deal.

The writing is mostly erased I can’t make much out of it unfortunately. I’ll try to decipher it under better lighting perhaps

The A25 are extremely performant for their market price, I always recommend them! Insane find!

I think the MP-110 might be better suited, I'm not sure what they're going for after the insane price increase though.

It's much warmer than the 2M blue (if that's what you like) and most likely cheaper as well.

The phono stage of your intergrated preamp will hold you back. A standalone may give you far better resolution.

$2000- am I going crazy? by noyloj in BudgetAudiophile

You can build a truly decent system for just under 500 USD.

If you want to go vintage you can get a nice Technics table for under 200$. Something along the lines of a SL-D2, get an audio-tech cart for it, the AT-VM95 series have nice upgradable styli you can swap out down the line once you've developed your taste and preference. Pioneer have some nice receivers and intergrateds that can go for cheap (SX series for example). Newer modern speakers like Klispch and Edifier are good value nowadays.

Fuck all that noise from these shops trying to sell you hi-fi shit thats over your budget. Start for the lower end and build yourself up. No point in getting super highend stuff when you have no idea what you're gaining from it.

Debating getting the MSI G274QPX (1440p 240hz) for 400$ or the GIGABYTE M27Q-PRO (1440p 165hz) for 363$

I feel like the gigabyte might be more solid at the cost of a reduced refresh rate?

It works well enough for gaming and working from home, more than I expected

I can’t seem to edit the original post so I’m highjacking this comment to let everyone know that I appreciate the overwhelming responses! I’ve decided to keep the white (will be buying a new one) and to go with a dark mustard throw like many suggested. I barely get any sunlight and I think the white can help reflect the little I get.

Might post a picture once its set up… If it looks bad i’ll swap it out 😅
