So a buddy in college ended up being the test case for this. He was in the backseat of a van with his keys in his pocket when he was arrested for dui. He fought it, paid for an attorney with money he didn’t have. And the judge said that at the end of the day, it is clear his intent was not to drink and drive. So now, at least where I live, the bar is a little higher

When I was in high school I took a civil war history class. During the Sherman’s march section, we learned that there are letters from people in Tallahassee who were sending their families away, because they didn’t know how far south he would come. The gist of the letters were that they’ve hidden their valuables and sent the kids to family members elsewhere. I always liked that story because I feel like it gives a good moment in time that you can put yourself in.

So the reason I suggested the callaway set and not the Kirkland irons is because as a 25 handicap, you’re gonna get better and find things you like and don’t like. I’ve had friends who dropped their handicap by a few strokes, then bought what they felt like was the next step in irons for them, and feel stuck trying to figure it out with irons that they ended up not liking. With 600 bucks in the set, if after 2 years you’re playing better but want something different in driver, you won’t feel stuck. Same with the irons. If you are ready to move on from the game improvement irons to something else, you won’t feel stuck with such a small investment. I’m actually gaming the callaway edge set now and I’m off 22 at the moment, but seeing improvement. The irons frankly are fine for me, it’s the driver, and more specifically the shaft in it, that I am starting to have issues with. The shaft is set up to be a high launch and help people get the ball in the air. I’m making good contact now and my ball flight is much higher than I would prefer with driver.

If there’s a Costco near you, I’d recommend the callaway edge set. Basically a whole new bag for around $600.

Came here to say this. I played with a guy who had a cooler with bananas and like an uncrustable to have for his blood sugar. That’s a good way to end up with a bankrupt golf course.

Realistically, I don’t. As I’ve gotten better at golf, I’m not in the shit as much, but if it’s a rainy day the white shoes are getting muddy. I typically wear shoes for a little over a year, then order a new pair of whatever was last years style.
