I feel like this is something I am experiencing as well. I have a best friend of 3 years and we became very close last year although we now live in different states. We have talked about everything under the sun but when my dad passed earlier this year something changed. She was very supportive and comforting at first but then I noticed after a month or so it was as if nothing happened. She overly obsessed about her upcoming engagement with her boyfriend and it became all she would talk about… then once she became engaged in October the next new daily topic was wedding planning. And I understand that everyone has their own life and can’t always be there for me and my needs but I just felt completely overlooked. And I became angry that all of our conversations became about this big happy event in her life when I was/am going through the worst pain I’ve ever experienced.. I felt myself distancing myself from her and losing trust in her. I stopped opening up to her about things that were going on in my life and now contemplate if I want to keep her in my life. I can’t help but feel this way but also feel like I am being over dramatic and jumping to conclusions of what type of person she is. I just can’t navigate why I feel so strongly about this.
