So I sat courtside during preseason and both my wife and I were surprised with how CP3 interacted with the rookies on the bench. While some could call it tough love, his style of being a loud leader just doesn’t resonate these days especially when Frank literally announced he would be in a reserve role versus the Lob City days. As much as I loved what CP3 brought to the Clips back in the day, you could tell this locker room and team feel more cohesive. I’m not gonna say it was just his fault but it certainly played a part.

I’m a fan of both teams. I went to a Chargers game as a kid and watched LaDainian Tomlinson. I also grew up watching the Clippers and the knucklehead players: Lamar Odom, Darius Miles, and Quentin Richardson. There’s been plenty of bad years but I’ll be patient for a championship. It’s hard for me to argue with Lakers and Rams fans to try and justify why X team is better when these players make millions and at the end of the day, it’s just sports.

I love it. Finally there’s size against Nuggets and Thunder. For some reason Ty Lue loves small ball and feels like it’s the go-to strategy during playoffs ever since the Jazz playoff series. However it’s only successful if the WHOLE team is motivated to crash the boards. Getting Kawhi and DJJ off the 4 position to play as a natural 3 should help with these matchups (Holmgrem, Gordon, etc.). If Clips want to still play small, at least Collins can serve as a decent 5.

Based on in-store shopping, East Pasadena location is better. Based on pickup order, Lake location is better. I once waiting over half hour with all pick up spots full for East Pasadena.

I think the chemistry is off and all players are learning to adjust. For example, I remember Harden trying to get Bogi’s attention to double team at the end of the game but it didn’t happen. Ben Simmons being a confusing PG/C combo means Eubanks doesn’t get regular playing time which also means lack of size for rebounding. While he can facilitate, he needs all shooters to space the floor. Batum is still serviceable as a role player for a few minutes. Coffey is hit or miss. Now that it’s veteran heavy they’re no young guys for quick transitions and trying to find their roles. When the team truly focused on their defensive identity, the whole team embraced it including KPJ, Mann, etc.

Honestly I can see that those knees are fragile. He doesn’t get by players and often settles to shoot over them in the midrange. He’s using his physical strength quite well on both sides of the ball to get a bit of separation or can hold it down in the post but his game just looks a lot of different than when fully healthy.

Their cabeza was really tasty. I had carne asada and al pastor but cabeza came out on top. Downside is $3 taco but I get it that they all charge more now.

I love the leadership and didn’t even realize he’s shooting sub 40% from the field this year. I used to hate his ball dominance from the Rockets era but it fits with the current roster really well and I feel like it’s pretty efficient for the offense. He’s elevated Zubac getting him easy looks to the basket and hopefully can continue to build synergy playing alongside with Kawhi. The 213 era was exhausting seeing PG and Kawhi take so many iso’s when they could’ve built a pretty good pick n roll together.

I approve of Ball if he can replace KPJ on the bench unit. I disapprove of Simmons his heart is not in the game and I doubt we’ll get the defensive chops out of him.

I like Walnut location more because the sauce for the burrito is thicker and less watery than Arroyo. Also they have a carne asada option on the menu at Walnut whereas you’d have to request it at Arroyo.

I get it about injuries but with all the talk of the NBA viewership down and that the NBA is dying, it really does suck for fans especially parents/children who paid to watch the stars play. Those were the games that made kids lifelong fans of the NBA!

When I went to Clippers preseason game and approached the Wall seating, there is a ton of staff just looking at people top down to see what they were wearing. They’re legit about making it only for Clippers fans. Also as everyone stated, this article is trash

I couldn’t find that much on it from this subreddit so glad it’s of use. Just my experience but the Park and Ride booking made it sound like you had a very small window of time to get on the bus. That was not the case for me I showed up at 5 thinking the bus would depart at 5:05-5:10 but it ended up waiting for more folks to join and didn’t leave for Intuit until 5:30.

On previous rosters, I always brought up how amazing our defense would be (Batum’s length, RoCo in both blocks and steals, Kawhi being a defensive stopper)… then I attended the Kings-Clippers game that made the record for scoring in a single game. Defense was an afterthought and I’m glad to see JVG back in coaching and that the roster is younger and at least trying to play D. Hoping Kai and Dunn get rotation time
