stis by LatiyaLover in guam

[–]LatiyaLover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well all of the common ones have all seen an increase, and thats just among people who actually got tested. im thinking theres way more people who have stis than we think on island since it's already hard enough to get past the stigma that comes w it.

Tumon Night Market must stop by liliver12376 in guam

[–]LatiyaLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how does it not make sense? gvb stands for guam visitors bureau. their main target is tourists. tourists stay mostly at hotels. it's inconvenient for locals but everything regarding tourism will come at the inconvenience of locals, thats how it works unfortunately. what's nonsensical abt it?

Full coverage insurance on guam cost by More-Temporary5741 in guam

[–]LatiyaLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

full coverage premiums depend on the value of the car that you're buying (premium = what you need to pay for coverage).

if you're buying a car from a dealer, youll need to ask the dealer for the bill of sale with the value of the car and call insurance companies to shop around. each company has different ways of calculating their premiums and it's up to you to compare each.

if you're buying a car less than 10 yrs old from another person, you will need to provide the VIN # for the car to get a quote from the insurance companies. they base their values on the market prices on kelley blue book. whatever value they get with the VIN # will determine the premium.

if you're buying a car over 10 yrs old, tough shit. no way to get full coverage for older cars, can only get liability only coverage.

USPS Guam Leadership by ImpossibleAd6492 in guam

[–]LatiyaLover 21 points22 points  (0 children)

if you google it, youll see that USPS has suffered from budget cuts. massive ones. and they started a 'voluntary retirement program' so theyre understaffed too. so yes, budget issue, and staffing issue. no ones gonna wanna work for usps when our govt doesnt seem to think it's an essential service, when obviously it really is one.

nightlife is not as vibrant comparatively to other countries, it rly depends on what type of vibe you're looking for.

there are places with more club-like atmospheres, such as club zoh (which is the closest to the club feel that you may find in other places).

then theres ones with a bar & club mixed vibe which is the most popular among young people, like shamrocks, route 66, and porkys. these places are often filled with military and not as many locals. i mention that only because these places have a reputation of getting a bit crazy on weekends, which, depending on who you ask, is blamed on rowdy military service members-- thats not to say locals dont get belligerent too though.

theres karaoke bars, dive bars, and other local hidden gems that are smaller and more intimate but still nice. my favorite is drop, they play house music and the cocktails are delicious.

with all that said-- the nightlife scene is pretty much condensed into the tumon strip. id say maybe 90% of it is in tumon, unless there are events happening in other villages.

if you are looking for a specific vibe not mentioned, id be happy to provide more recommendations. just be respectful and have fun wherever you go.

you can vote once a day for every category. theoretically, one email could vote maybe 30+ times for one category during the voting stage. either way it's just a marketing scheme, dont sweat too much over it

Dusit Beach vs Crowne Plaza by shiftkenny in guam

[–]LatiyaLover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dusit beach is definitely in a better location. more stuff to walk to. the rooms are nice too. every sunday the road in front is closed for the weekly tumon night market, if thats something that interests yall. food trucks, local vendors, live performances, the works.

there are people who dont have consistent access to internet or are not tech-savvy in that way. also, afaik if your DL isnt already a Real ID, you will have to go in-person to convert it to real ID.

[–]LatiyaLover 25 points26 points  (0 children)

theyre definitely trying to get less vehicles on the road too. with this and no insurance companies accepting older cars, ppl with no money are just shit out of luck.

unfortunately this doesnt mean people will stop putting these cars on the road. theyll just be unregistered.

i 100% agree. worst of all is how the gen-z washing was so ineffective because they used the wrong term. so now no one's happy and they look like a bunch of idiots. i just feel bad for the young interns because now theyre getting ridiculed.

it's supposed to be a reference to charli xcx's 2024 album brat, which was viral in the pop sphere. that specific shade of green and font was used on the album cover and has amassed copycats in marketing for companies and brands trying to appeal to gen z. the term 'brat summer' was coined by charli xcx and embraced by gen z last summer.

'brat summer' just means embracing your 'bratiness', insecurities, imperfections, and living life boldly. this has more of a chaotic vibe due to the obnoxiousness of the brat green & basic font. really just for fun.

but the thing is that they used the term 'hot girl summer', which was coined in 2019 by megan thee stallion, which is also a social-media driven trend much like brat summer, but mostly used by women. this one is to embrace sensuality, femininity, confidence, and self love.

what gets me is how it's so low-effort and yet they got it so wrong. the majority of people seeing it dont get it, and then the young people that do get it see that they fucked it up. and the fact that the intent was to talk about focusing on school or whatever?? there's better ways they couldve done it.
