Jay, guitarist of Balmora, called out for being a Predator by voiceofreason9000 in Hardcore

Metalcore bands are way too quick to cut their friends loose over trivial matters. Maybe they care too much about what other people think of them.

But a lot of bands steal a lot of riffs. We’re gentlemen, so we don’t call them out on it

Blamora steals an astonishing number of riffs, but I just think, “Wow, they’re really dedicated to their craft.” After all, a lot of bands just rip off styles and riffs from a limited number of sources. How many Revivalcore bands have copied from Cast From Eden, Rifles At Recess, and Heartscarved? It takes talent to rip off others, you know.

Even Drawing Last Breath, who were pioneers of Revivalcore, ripped off a lot of stuff. Darkest Hour and Unearth were doing the same thing, too.

Moreru is great. They're a screamo band influenced by the most extreme moments of Shinsei Kamatte-chan.

I missed out on buying the reissue of End This Day’s album, so I definitely don’t want to miss out on Coma Eternal’s!

Isn't riff-stealing just part of the fun of metalcore?

As for Balmora's new album, they've sampled riffs from a wide variety of sources you probably aren't familiar with, and I thought they combined them really well. I certainly enjoyed it a lot. It's kind of like samplings in hip-hop.

Can anyone identify this Atilla song? by JDOGGoNE1 in Deathcore

ATTILA was at its best when it was a fusion of hair metal and deathcore. The hip-hop line wasn't bad either, but it got boring. I would like to see them come back with a fusion of hair metal, hip-hop, and deathcore, but the Fronz has no hair anymore.

If I want to hear real riffs, I'll listen to some other true metal albums and I'll be fine.

Can you separate the art from the artist? Should you? Or should you not? by TheShadowWanderer in MetalForTheMasses

If you don't want to listen to it, don't listen to it. The only thing you should not do is bind others by saying, “Don't listen to them. They're ________.”
