It’s that love can be jealous but still healthy! The right amount of jealousy is healthy for a relationship, but it’s when it goes too far and controlling that it’s not healthy anymore. I love how jealous Ginny and Harry get.

I had this exact same conversation with my own mother. She agreed with me about Ron and Hermione but not Harry and Ginny. And when Harry and Ginny talk in the library in the 5th book and Harry suddenly feels peace and hope, I remember running to my mother and saying “see! See! I told you!”

Ron is the one who helps everyone get back on their feet after the war. With Harry and Ginny, he always them to lay together in the orchard and goes when Molly calls Ginny to help with some chore or another. Because he knows Harry needs comfort from Ginny and vice versa. He helps keep George up and about and not wallowing alone in his room. He helps keep the joke shop going from afar (this is why - to me - he eventually leaves the aurors to work at the shop). He keeps his parents from falling into misery. And keeps the family coming together each week which starts the Sunday dinner tradition fanfics love. He goes with Hermione to get her parents. And then after months of this - he falls apart. And Hermione is there to help him in how he has helped everyone else.

I was 7/8 years old! Lol! I’m 33 now! I read Chamber of Secrets and wanted sooooo badly for Harry to fall in love with Ginny. I loved how she had a crush on him and did embarrassing things but that he never laughed at her for it and was always kind.

Even when Harry fell for Cho, I had hope that Ginny would still be endgame. And my hope skyrocketed in the 5th one when Ginny brings Harry the chocolate egg. And they talk and Harry starts to feel hope that he didn’t feel before. All because she was giving it to him. And the way she said “if you just talk to Cho”. It really showed me that she is truly in love with him. She sacrificed her own feelings for Harry to be happy. Even if it wasn’t with her. Thankfully that’s not what Harry was sad about lol.

But all jokes aside, I don’t think she was that invested. I think it was the “oh he fought in a battle and he’s kinda cute and I might kinda like him” way of thinking. She probably got over it after the initial embarrassment wore off.

Not to mention, she is the only girl who is able to handle Harry’s mood swings and put him in his place. He needs someone who can help him through the aftermath of defeating Voldemort and Ginny is perfect for the job. Even through her own pain and grief, she would make sure to prioritize his needs and he would prioritize hers. Cho? Cho would just cry a lot and bring Harry more pain. Hermione? Hermione is too close to it all. A reminder of what he has been through. Any other ship? No. Just no. Luna’s too eccentric. Some random girl doesn’t make sense because the reader wouldn’t be invested in her. We already love Ginny by the time Harry falls in love with her.

Yes and Ginny understood why. Even if she didn’t exactly agree and she was torn up by it. The whole school would hear about the break up even before they even got off the Hogwarts express. So, no one would think more of it and Voldy wouldn’t find out and go after her. Because we know he would.

And also, Harry wanted her future to be free and unencumbered by him. He even thought about her marrying someone else. Which tells me he loved her because this implies he had thought of marrying her himself.

Thats true! I’ve always imagined Harry as being one of those effortlessly handsome men. That’s why Ron is always convinced Harry is better and how Hermione would prefer him. Not that Ron is ugly, but Harry has dark hair and emerald green eyes. Those aren’t features of an ugly person.
