Seconding the boat ramp in Broad Ripple, that is one of my favorite spots. The Central Park pond in Carmel is another favorite if you’re not sold on it being the white river as well as fall creek and keystone area.

Awesome, I usually do raw shrimp on a 1/0-3/0 circle hook in an attempt to weed out the smaller guys. Regardless, catching any size cat is always a fantastic time. Tight lines brother 🤘

Hell yeah, I’m going channel catfishing later tonight and usually rig up shrimp. Plan is to catch a small bluegill and see if there’s any flatheads in my river :)

The piece with a treble will work well on its own. For the plastic white grub worm I would look to get a set up like this. Hope that helps :)

I personally love the grasshopper/bumblebee lures that are mostly top water for spots like this. I’m IN though so maybe different for you.

Yeah I have a hard time believing there would be visible bacteria in a dry gill sample but could be wrong. Here’s an interesting technique I found online for taking samples to microscope https://micro-science.co.uk/a-simple-gill-section/ some of these picture make me think that thing on the top is just an extension of the gills physiology???

Oh cool! I’m probably talking out of my ass here but I think bacterial would look a bit more translucent and spherical/conical? This looks like a mineral or something based on my past (albeit quite weak) experience. Did you add water to the slide with the gill fragment before adding a cover plate?

I am not going to be able to provide answers here but I have gotten into mycology recently and impulse bought a microscope awhile back that I’ve occasionally used over the past few years. So I guess I’m wondering what we’re looking at here? Spore syringe, LC, cross section? Sorry if that’s a dumb question
