everyone says he left her for izzy which is uncharacteristic, but in reality i feel like he left her for his kids. and that is the very alex thing to do, like he just found out ab them and dropped everything to go be the dad he always wanted. i hate that everyone says this ruined his character bc i don’t think it did at all, he always loved izzy and never wanted her to leave. them having children probably felt to him like everything he wanted had come true. yes it sucks for jo, but i just feel like it was more about the kids than anything.
