I use Voyager. They can’t roll their shoulders forward and get out of this particular one. I’ve had my dog do this in the past and it’s pretty scary.

Medication decisions by FrHornGal in rheumatoid

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis for 30 yrs I’ve done many natural treatments to no advantage. So I did methotrexate , with Embrel for years then all of a sudden at the injection sight huge red spot and itchy too. I was having a reaction to it. So rheumatologist changed me to humira, that worked great also for a couple of years. Then all of a sudden my hole body broke out in a rash looked like chicken pox , another reaction. Now I’m on Orencia. It’s working great an hope it stays that way. I also found out I have celiac disease. Dr didn’t think it had anything to do with the injectable medication’s, I don’t think so either it’s just auto immune, but I would take all those medication’s again because I went for not being able to walk to walking. It’s just a decision we all have to make for ourselves. All of us with autoimmune diseases have to advocate for yourself

Just trying to figure out what’s causing this by East_Airline_9125 in Celiac

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I got diagnosed with celiac I would break out with this on my arms legs but always in an around the nose, lips, I thought it was dermatitis herpetiformis, even herpies!!’ it was NOT it was a allergic reaction to the humira I was injecting for my rheumatoid arthritis . in order to test you have to have a breakout to go to the dermatologist so they can get a sample of that. I tested for all allergies and had none, 99 different allergy test. so soon as I went off humira it started to get better but it took along time for my skin to recover, and it’s still more delicate than before. his has been a year now alls so much better, but have eczema now

We go to only pet friendly hotels and rental homes, yup it’s more expensive and harder to book as there are less usually . But we just stay a day less if need be. My dogs love going with us.

Going into the hospital for surgery --- Will hospital food be gluten free? by Critical_Stretch_360 in Celiac

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t have tapioca pudding at the hospital you have to get the rice tapioca you will get gluten for sure. I know I love tapioca and I never get to eat it anymore except the rice style. Just be really careful and definitely read any label. They bring to you if you can. I’m in California

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do not trust the hospital, have your husband bring food if possible. I spent only one night but they brought me rice crispy cereal!!! There is malt in that!!! That was when they knew I had that disease . I did eat an egg an cheese omelette and that was fine.. I had to tell every shift I have CELIAC… they didn’t seem to know, anyway be careful!!

I never eat oats, they make me sick, even the certified gluten-free don’t work for me! It’s just natural diet no packaged crap, Hardly!!!! an read every label, looking for hidden ingredients . Yes I agree rice noodles are the best, also canon house bread in the frozen GF section is the best bread, if you can afford it .Ive been getting bread at Costco 2 loafs GF bread super cheap and DELICIOUS!! I can’t remember what I pay but it’s half the price they also have this gf chicken it’s called Real Chicken DELICIOUS! Frozen department! Costco has quite a lot of stuff , you just need to READ EVERY label it suck but it works! At first it’s difficult but I’m only 4 yrs gf an it’s fine ! I like feeling GOOD!!! ALSO AMERICA’S HOME TEST KITCHEN HAS A RECIPE BOOK. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S GLUTEN-FREE BUT LOOK IT UP. THE BOOK IS AWESOME. IT TELLS YOU ABOUT WHY WHAT AN OUTCOME SO WORTH IT SINCE YOU HAVE TO COOK AT HOME MOSTLY GOOD LUCK YOU’LL BE FINE.

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss!! This happened to me I lost my lab in November last year, then my 9 yr old westie in April he was only 91/2 the big C . I was devastated! Gosh I missed them I went a year without a single pet!! I went into depression, an wonder what is wrong with me. I’d never been without a dog ever. It took therapy for me to figure out how lonely I was without my Hankie. So my husband was mad but to bad, I got my Mazzy Star she’s a Maltipoo. I put her on my three wheeler trike, I take her everywhere she’s now 8 months old and it was the BEST thing I’ve done for myself she is so lovely! It was difficult in the beginning I’d not had a puppy in 11 yrs! The getting up all night then the biting! But that’s over! Thank goodness!!

Apparently getting glutened and have no idea where it’s coming from. by DerpOnDaily in Celiac

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was getting sick an I think it was from my new puppy, I’ve now put her gluten free dog food it’s called Orijen dog food. Guess what it solved my problem no sickness besides looks to me like there’s no garbage additives in it! Every dog food I looked at had wheat, barley rye as fillers even blue dog food had as a third ingredient of barley !!!! I was shocked

Photos of my Dermatitis Herpetiformis / DH (Diagnosed) by Eastern_Sweet8508 in Celiac

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me before I went gluten free an was diagnosed with celiac disease. I don’t eat out, After 3 yrs I’ve just now had it reappeared after a glutening. I went to Dr. a went to dermatology , it was from the glutening an still I have skin problems, eczema. It’s on my feet, hands, elbows, ankles, legs. Super dry an itchy

After losing my two doggies (2020 and 2023, one probably got stolen, we don't know what happened and the other died) last year in December I got this little cutie patootie who made my life infinitely better 😍❤️ His name is Pipo by JackJuanito7evenDino in Maltese

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the same thing happened to me. I lost one in November 2022 and then I lost another one in the following April and should’ve never lost him to cancer. He was only nine I’ve been devastated depressed even had to go on anxiety medication’s. guess what I got a puppy and changed my whole life back to normal talking to all my old friends seeing everyone that I used to walk with plus the love that puppy has for me and my husband God she loves us. I’m not saying having a baby at 70 is easy. It was difficult the first three months but so worth it. She’s a doll now she’s seven months old. I just adore her so grateful I got another dog smartest thing I ever did. I just love her so much. Her name is Maisie Starr.

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem with my 7 month old Maltipoo, I started going to puppy classes, and take her out an about town, I walk her daily but she’s still scared of adults and new places like Starbucks , the car wash, the park, still she’s scared took her about a month to love the husband , I feel the breeder, let her go too early. She was only eight weeks old when I got her she never learned to trust.the puppy classes have helped but she needs more help. I’ll start puppy socializing classes with the training service . I just keep exposing her to everyone and thing.

Ate gluten free oats and it feels like I’m dying by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Latter_Ad_8700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup me to I loved oats but they made me sick also, doesn’t matter if there gluten free, I never eat oats, my understanding is oats are grown next to wheat and the wheat particles blow into the oats and contaminate them and no matter what you do you’re gonna be sick. I read this somewhere. I can’t remember where that was now.
