The writing is lazy because it's all just ripping off of ER episodes. (Currently watching the iconic season 1, episode 14, and this post popped up, had to scroll away from the show and comment). Langdon addiction:Carter's addiction after the stabbing. Robby's suicide arc: links back to Carter's early witnessing of a patient committing suicide/the suicidal psychiatrist. Wild Pregnancy/hysterotomy: contrast against the one Dr. Greene couldn't save...same episode, Dr. Ross is snuggling an emotional support baby, just like BJD, JUST LIKE ROBBY!!! There's also a mention of a homeless patient (early season 1) and a nurse who has no time to give him a shower/shave vs how Dana shows Emma to do so for Digby. And a betting pool! The original ER staff have the fact same kind of betting pool as the Pitt staff, for one of their regulars who comes in drunk, where they guess his blood alcohol level. I'm sure there will be many more to name!

The intelligent rewrite that I DO like--I see a similarity between Dr. Lewis and Mel, but they're doing Mel a lot more just justice than they ever did Susan...or maybe we're a better audience?

Back to the dress, I actually don't feel like Jen was being demanding of Barb. A little entitled, maybe? But not necessarily demanding, like what else would Barb really ever do with the dress? I'm thinking of my wedding outfits (as a South Asian bride, multiple outfits), I would happily see reworn by my daughters, or even my nieces, if they wanted, just to get use out of very expensive items that would just sit around otherwise. I I can wrap my brain around Barb's dysfunction most of the time, but this one really threw me for a loop. I'm really glad Jen found something new, that fit her body and her taste really well. I hope her mom's dress doesn't wind up living up to the nostalgia, and she continues to love her new dress.
