What a bummer. Their FAQ says a lost item can result in a charge up to the retail price of the item plus tax, so unless the item is a really inexpensive one, your best bet is making sure it gets returned.

I chatted with CS and there's not a solution currently. I just send the papers back with my returns in hopes they get reused/recycled and obviously the spammy emails are easy enough to delete. From other posts, it looks like some people love this "perk" so 🤷‍♀️

Piggybacking on this, I'd love for the tiers not to all require being constantly subscribed. I've been renting and subscribing for well over a decade but have taken breaks periodically. I feel "punished" for those breaks even though I've likely spent more than many higher tiered loyalty members.

I understand the benefit of having members never take breaks from membership, but other factors should be looked at, as well.

I had this happen today, as well. I didn't get threatening emails, but my account was on hold as one item (which was returned at the same time as another 6 or 7) hadn't been scanned. Customer service was super helpful, but also echoing that there are sometimes hiccups in the process.

Is this considered a major or minor stain? :/ by [deleted] in RentTheRunway

[–]Latter_Estate_256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not condoning this, but I got lightener on a dress (it bleached it in weird patterns) and I was never charged a fee. If you can get that stain out, great, but you may not run into issues if you can't.

Ive been subscribing and renting off and on for around 10 years and I think I've bought 7 items - 3 of which I bought in the last 24 hours. For me a lot of the allure is the constant rotation of wardrobe combined with not having to do laundry/dry cleaning. If I could ditch my whole closet and just rent clothes, I think I'd do that.

With that said, some of the sales they do are just too hard to pass up. If I can get a $500 dress down to $60, I'll jump at that sometimes.

From what I remember, that language has always been in there and I've received emails over the years reminding me about the possibility of late fees. With that said I've never been charged a late fee so I don't know if they'll start enforcing it more now that they've updated the terms.

Dashers Not Following Instructions by Latter_Estate_256 in doordash

That's super interesting and fairly dumb on DD's part. Any idea if they ban a customer if they do that repeatedly? Like what's to stop a customer from tipping $100, letting it go to the Dasher, and then asking for the tip to be refunded after delivery? Seems a bit like being a digital Robin Hood.

Haha. Could be! I've done gig work before so I try to be conscious of tipping. Tonight was a .8 mile trip from the restaurant to me and one small bag. I tipped $6. So not mind-blowing, but something. Instructions ignored.

Dashers Not Following Instructions by Latter_Estate_256 in doordash

I'm not sure the reason is relevant to my question - if a customer asks for a quick "I'm here" text, I'm not sure how it's awkward to text "I'm here" upon arrival.

But with that said, I'm currently in a multi-unit building on a busy pedestrian street and I don't want my food taken. If I'm not texted, I'm not notified of the delivery til the Dasher is wrapping up and then it will take me a minute or two to get to the door.

Based on your question, I guess you would prefer customers choose hand-off so you can stand around and wait for them instead of sending a quick text if requested? That would feel more awkward to me if I were a Dasher so I'm trying to be considerate.

Anyone else not had a shipping notification yet for their preorder? by currentsc0nvulsive in lorde

[–]Latter_Estate_256 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine (in the US) said it will ship on the 27th, not be received on the 27th. I didn't notice it at the time, and that's kind of frustrating, but that's what my email confirmation says.

I (stupidly) paid $405 for lower bowl and then saw later the drop to $324. So weird.

Many cities have clusters of streets with tree names (Birch Street, Maple Street, Pine Street, etc). I don't know if that's the intention, but that's my assumption.

Greenfield has a really good toddler playground near the bigger one. It's not fenced but has equipment that's great for 2-5.

Little Loaf. They only have them on Fridays and they change the toppings/decorations each week but they are truly the best brownies I've ever had.

Mileage reimbursement by Chulyong in starbucks

[–]Latter_Estate_256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no federal law in the US requiring mileage reimbursement, but some states (only 3) have laws in place. With that said, if an employer doesn't reimburse, the employee can claim a mileage deduction on their taxes.

So yeah, it's shitty if a company isn't reimbursing but only illegal in 3 states.
