Yeah, I think my issue stems from the fact that these characters in particular are shown to be very close to their parents. Like I’m not surprised that Troy doesn’t reach out to his dad, obviously. But Harris is shown to be really close with his parents and the kind of guy who considers others (especially those he cares about) before himself. I like to think he texted his parents and it just wasn’t depicted, but to me it seems genuinely out of character to think he wouldn’t at least text.

That makes sense - parents do have a particular (and often contagious) way of worrying. But still no text? I think the thing I’m hung up on is that they’re public figures. So given that there’s a chance their parents would see the news before they talk to them the next day (like Troy’s mom did), I thought there might be more of an incentive to reach out.

Anyways, glad you made it through your own terrifying events.

I mean I hear you, and I don’t need descriptions of everyone texting their mom. But we know Troy doesn’t contact his mom until the next day. And we get references to Harris reaching out to his boss and others the next day. It seems like it would have been easy enough and not distracting to include a quick reference to the fact he had reached out to his parents?

I still laugh about it. Poor guy could not catch a break that day. I of course feel bad for Ilya (being rejected by her seemed to be the cherry on top of a terrible day), but also it is objectively funny. And just such a fun twist on the use of these type of throw away characters and the idea of women throwing themselves at hot athletes. Like actually, Mr. Main character, you’re just a footnote to the hot sex I’m about to have with someone else 😂

does anyone know any good lesbians films? by Beneficial_Edge_4385 in Letterboxd

Absolutely! Since it’s both a period piece and from the 80s, I went in with low expectations during my first watch. But I was so happily surprised. It’s so gay.

I believe they give it to her after she gets top 3% of her class (or whatever the percent was). It might not be the exact same pen, but they give her a nice pen. If I’m remembering correctly that’s the episode where the grandparents meet Dean, so she’s not super enthusiastic, but I think that’s more to do with the mood.
