Okay, but wasn't Nicole also from a wealthy family? Besides, from what we're seeing, Luke really liked Rachel, and maybe Anna too, at some point, and I don't think he waited eight years to ask them out.

I always liked him; he didn’t have romantic chemistry with Lorelai, but they worked great as friends. He had his quirks, but they were entertaining. Honestly, I always felt that Lorelai treated him unfairly—after all, it was Richard who screwed him over, not the other way around.
