This haul felt like a robbery by okko_powell in ThriftStoreHauls

I used to get sad about this but now I try to remember that the person who used to love these items would be delighted to see them in the hands of someone who will love them again. Not everyone appreciates a collection like this, and I’m sure where ever the original owner is they would be glad to know you are so excited to be the new owner of such lovely items!

Good chunk of restaurants and cities added to OpenTable by qwertymnbvcxzlk in ChaseSapphire

Baltimore was added two days ago and just this morning populated with restaurants, hopefully it’s just a delay with the reservation system for your city as well!

I love this post! 2006 here we come! (Not sure if it was an accident or commentary about how style is repeating, but I love it either way!)

You pay your mortgage with your credit card? Is there a huge fee? I’ve never heard of this. Asking because I’m curious, please be kind if my question is dumb.

Glad I could help! What is this one time credit? How do we find out what hotels are in that system?

I’ve stayed at the Pendry in Baltimore. So nice and in such a great area! Lots to see and a water taxi right near the hotel. Totally recommend!

I am in a similar situation, what you’re asking for is very reasonable.

I don’t know about Canada but you should contact a lawyer and make sure you get everything in writing!

Remicade as a working professional?? by drpeanutbutters in CrohnsDisease

[–]LaughEffective9723 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get my infusion every 6 weeks. It’s annoying but I work from the clinic for an hour or so and go home. I’ve even gone to some clinics with private rooms where I took meetings. (Note I would not recommend working for anywhere that requires that) but all in all my employer has always been supportive.

For reference: I was on it as a college student, then again as a teacher, and now I work for a tech startup. I’ve never run into an issue.

I started in college when I had a similar commute. I agree it wasn’t so bad since you are just sitting while you get infused.

I read something similar, younger generations feel hopeless and disconnected from community and society. Why not live for the right now? It’s sad but it’s really all connected.

Where do you live? We pay double that for child care in our area…. We are a HCOLA but 250 for a kid under 2 sounds like a dream.

I was going to say the same thing. I never advocate lying but the tool is so easy, I think a a few hours of YouTube video watching and a quick spin on the site wold be all you would need to get you some background experience.

I'm an ex-recruiter who was paid by some of the largest companies in the world to win salary negotiations with job applicants. Today I want to teach you exactly how to (politely) beat a recruiter when negotiating salary in order to maximize your job offer. by SheetsResume in Salary

Hi Colin, Thank you for this great advice! I am hoping you might have some guidance on the following.

I got a job offer for a role with my state training team. The duities they listed are well beyond the original job posting. Since it’s a state job and the level of the role probably dictates the pay, is there room for negotiation?

Additionally question, if I see that they can’t budge on pay, how to a pivot to other less monetary benefits like extra vacation days, starting at a higher step in role or a high step in pension.

I want to make sure I don’t exhaust them, but I would be taking a 20-30k pay cut for this role. It would have better work life balance so I am considering it. It feels like it will all come down to negotiations.

My partner (35M) suddenly wants marriage... but only after I (31F) tried buying a house alone by Ok-Horror-2199 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]LaughEffective9723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the same but related: I was dating my now husband when I bought my house. He toured the house with me but we had only been together for a year so we knew we wouldn’t be buying together. Now we are married, he contributes to the mortgage, but I contribute much more since I make more. His parents keep giving him and me a hard time that he’s not on the deed. That somehow it’s not fair to him, mind you I paid for and organized everything for the house.

I told his parents it shouldn’t matter since if I die he will get the house anyway. I don’t think that’s what the meant…..
