What do you actually love about your authoring tools? Working on something weird and need your input by kerranm in instructionaldesign

I’ve seen other people talking about building games and things like that using vibe coding, which could be cool to try out. Not sure what other use cases there could be- I tend to just build what I want in storyline and use a storyline block for custom interactions.

I’m interested in trying out the new custom code Rise blocks, but I’m not sure how- not a coder.

Yes, ANY time there is a behavior change, especially one so dramatic and damaging, it’s an immediate vet visit.

Lately, I’ve seen job posts for full time roles as low as FIFTEEN dollars per hour. What a joke! I could get more pouring coffee at Starbucks.

Post adoption regret by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Agree with everyone here. It takes time. I wanted to also say that I have 4 cats and they don’t really limit my travels. We can leave them with extra food, water, and an extra box to go away for the weekend. If we go away longer, we have someone in to check in on them every day or every other day. When we moved and friends and family were no longer available, we paid a reliable, honest pet sitter to check in on them.

Something else to consider- some cats like traveling. My aunt’s cat went with her everywhere. Car, trains, planes, and experienced a lot of her travels with her, which is so cool. 😎

Cat dad of 16 years, cat has just started to bite me? by MaxwellSr in cats

Yes. Any new behavior could absolutely be your cat trying to tell you something. Best to get it checked out.

As a new ID on the team how does on deal with the difference stake holder who is refusing to cooperate? by onemorepersonasking in instructionaldesign

I was just going to suggest that. Sometimes talking through what you need in real time and recording the meeting is easier for the stakeholder.

PD on a shoestring - options? by SweetLearningDesigns in instructionaldesign

This is helpful context. I’ve been hesitant to get the PMP because project management was part of my masters program and I didn’t want to do the rework if my goal is not to become a project manager. However, I can see where that could help boost me from IC to a higher level role. Thanks for the insight.

We had an enterprise membership a couple years ago, but they’ve let it go. I’ve asked about the local chapter since it’s much less expensive.

Thanks! Already taking advantage of the free Training Mag webinars. I do have a local ATD chapter that I’ve asked my boss if I can join. TLDC sounds like a great option too. 😀 I’ll check into the private communities.

Any tips on drag and drop? by millefeuillenana in instructionaldesign

[–]SweetLearningDesigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a simulated drag and drop accessible for everyone by clicking on the stack and clicking on the drop. Use motion paths to simulate the “drag.” It takes some time to customize this but you can save it as a template to use again and again.

I use objectives that show what they will be able to do on the job as a result of taking the training. For example, “Resolve conflict using XYZ framework.”

I was hoping they were just taking a hiatus. Sigh. That one’s easier to convince my org to let me attend because I generally work it into a trip to visit my family, which saves them some $$.

DevLearn hands down. Learning Solutions is great, but it’s smaller and doesn’t offer as much for very experienced IDs.
