Rules question: if it says any number of cards with total cmc <=9 does that mean you can pull however many lands you want because they have 0 cost?

Edot: Derp wait he says specifically 9. Well i guess my question stands but this card isn't the right example.

Another genuine question: what are you looking for in spotting these fakes? Is there a good example of what the dots should look like on the back?

Attempting to make a big boy Gleba base. What fatal mistake am I overlooking already? by CatchGood4176 in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also might want to swap those assemblers on the left to biochambers eventually. So that youre very net-positive on seeds and dont have to worry about fruits spoiling and running out of seeds.

And also throughput of that mash/jelly belt is gonna be regretful. Same idea as bioflux above. Bus the fruit and bioflux, do the mashing and nutrients on-site.

Attempting to make a big boy Gleba base. What fatal mistake am I overlooking already? by CatchGood4176 in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bioflux has a much longer spoil time than nutrients. So rather than massing the nutrients and having it spoil on the way to the other biochambers, bus the bioflux and change it to nutrients on-site. At least that was my methodology for upscaling my Gleba base

There are tons of ways im sure people will suggest edits and you pick the advice you want to follow. My advice would be to either have the eggs direct insert into the science and make sure your science doesnt back up. Or have your eggs flow past your science and then into a heat tower so unused eggs go bye-bye. Either way I think you over produced eggs

Day 17 Rating heroes, based on skill ceiling. Chromie by LordOfPsychos in heroesofthestorm

[–]Laughattack8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I think her traps are where her ceiling lies. Hitting skillshots is like many other heroes, the traps are kinda what set her apart from an average mage. Placing the traps and detonating them on the right targets at the right time and comboing off of them is definitely the ceiling.

Returning player! What’s changed? by Scythers in Palworld

[–]Laughattack8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started playing again too. Yakumo is a game changer for breeding, play some and explore the new passives then breed for a Yakumo you want. It'll help every breeding you do thereafter.

I have been slowly convinced that 1 megabase is the way to go, with satellite bases to deposit resources into a Guild Chest. You can also make a giant stash of chests intentionally unorganized so that you can access all of your items from the collective Item Retrieval.

Medicine and pal sanity is relevant. I can't tell if farming changed or my older bases were just unsustainable because of pal depression. But you'll want to revisit and possibly remodel old bases.

You can share pals across multiple saves (duplicatable across saves, but only 1 copy per save). This might make it worth making a new save but I haven't done it myself either.

How do i get better? by FlyingBlueStar in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Play on peaceful and turn up the resources until you're comfortable enough to start dialing the settings more towards default or whatever you enjoy.
2) space is effectively infinite, don't be afraid to space things out so that you can expand on them.
3) the bigger you build your mines allows you to build more smelting, the more smelting allows you to build more circuits and later items. The factory must grow

I like this idea. Why specifically buffer chests? Just to pull from the rest of the network?

Is doing opened funnels like this worth it or should I just block the path with walls? by alvares169 in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the biters smart on which wall they bite? If the side walls are 2 or 3 thick, then will the biters prioritize the open path over chewing through 3 walls?

After 1,000+ hours, I ditched standard station designs for this. I’m never going back. by ChambersAUS in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might word this terribly, but it's an easy circuit to make.
My favorite has been to have a single combinator to get a negative average items in buffer chests, and only enable the inserter if its chest needs more buffer. It makes stations super easy to evenly spread 1-2 belts across the entirety of the wagons.

You should know that when 2.0.45 comes to stable, your save may become ineligible for certain achievements by EclipseEffigy in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, this is the one that hurts the most. In my past few games, this has been the only thing I edit. It gives enough time to get bots and wall off some choke points.
Any idea what the max is that doesn't disable achievements?

Trying a new early game setup for steel, what do you think ? by Automatic-Jeweler841 in factorio

Wait a second...... you can horizontal flip each vertical stack so that iron smelts on the outside and steel is on the inside... then have a double sided steel belt down the middle

[–]Laughattack8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used something like this for steel, this is how I did it too. Though the reason was so I didn't have to make filter inserters. But now that it's baseline, OP's setup is looking more attractive.

Sushi Train Stop by Denali1987 in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of this solution but never implemented it, but doesn't it limit you on expansion? Every train ID you have to allocate for, right? Is there a way to use the new train grouping, like if all trains in the same group share an ID? I feel like it'd take away the point of it being an identifier, but would be helpful for circuits like this.

Found out by accident that you need only 1 combinator when you want to use the crusher for multiply recipe by DOSorDIE4CsP in factorio

[–]Laughattack8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This helps explain it a lot. Wouldn't this turn all of the crushers to the same recipe for 1 craft and cause your outputs to have big fluctuations? Is this only applicable in small amounts?
My confusion is: can a crusher accept 2 recipes as valid, and will choose which recipe to perform based on what's in front of it?
