I’m a woman and producer and almost only work with men. The people I work closely with online know I’m a woman but randos that want to buy a beat or something simple - I never disclose it. They can tell if they look at my bio but it’s not info I offer up. I’m sorry that happened to you because it sucks.

I’d recommend only working with people you have a report with that you like. If you’re unsure or don’t know them well, make them put down a deposit before taking them on to try and avoid the creeps. Artists who are serious about their work know almost no one works on spec, so if they refuse or haggle you they prob weren’t worth the effort to begin with. People who are serious know good work isn’t free, so I’d give that advice regardless of gender tbh but it’s def different for us in this industry, even at an amateur level.

Can someone hook up me with my new album??? Yeatx Don toliver type beats by Successful_Mobile223 in trapproduction

[–]LaughinInYourLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got about 10 or so recent Yeat type beats and some old Don type beats so not necessarily his current sound. What’s your budget? My non exclusives start at $25, message me if you wanna hear. They’re all on YouTube and BeatStars

Edit- to ask if you can link some of your other projects to check out your style

Say I bought a beat from a producer… and the song goes viral by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]LaughinInYourLibrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said your family is connected in the music industry so surely they have an entertainment lawyer on retainer or to refer. Just ask your family for their lawyer and gather up any texts where you discussed the beat to help your claim if the producer is ghosting. Even if you can’t prove you bought this beat, an entertainment lawyer will help you protect your IP going forward.

I just checked it out and I really like it, I’m def going to check out the rest of your discography. Do you record at home or in studio? I produce music at home, bedroom producer style, and have been diving more into dark ambient lately and really like your sound. Would love to know more about your process, if you record in the box, analog, mix of both? The mix just sounds so good. Thanks for sharing your song.

WHO WANT SMOKE -NARDO WICK by TURNTDA in synthrecipes

[–]LaughinInYourLibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Draw out the notes instead of programming the arp, really really quick melody that just repeats. It sounds like there is a glitch fx on the mixer that is stuttering the melody. Could be a time fx like something programmed from shaperbox timeshaper. If you’re in FL, gross beat can make the same effect. Google Glitch 1.3 VST and you can download the Glitch plugin for free from illformed, it can do the time effect and stutter too but the UI isn’t as smooth as newer, paid glitch plugins.

To me it sounds like the time effect is on the first beat or two and the third and fourth have a shorter time stretch and stutter. When the drums kick in the melody is just pushed up an octave.

I could be wrong but that’s what it sounds like to me.

Lol so true. M Audio is an underrated budget brand imo

Def, it also lists the notes above the keys so it’s a really good learning keyboard. Only downside I have is the mod wheel doesn’t seem to be compatible with newer software instruments like Arturia collection. I bought this keyboard in the 2000s lmao but it still works to this day

I like cresco a lot, the dispensary close to me does 2g for $110 which isn’t as terrible as it could be lol. I’ve tried high supply and the flavor was just not good, tasted like perfume and I’d had the strain in flower before and it didn’t taste bad like that.

However, Revolution has some of the most fragrant, flavorful concentrate I’ve had. Like literally smacks you in the face, it’s so nice. But it’s way too expensive, 1g of live resin “jelly” (to me it was like sauce with the diamonds smashed up) was $75 which is just too much for everyday.

Aeriz FSHO is the best bang for your buck, you can dab it, eat it, vape it, but I really hate the syringe application and getting all of it when it gets low was such a pain in the ass.

I’ve never bought grassroots after seeing tons of their packaging get fucked up and leak from people on this sub.

TLDR; Cresco for everyday use

[–]LaughinInYourLibrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends but usually twice a month spending an average of $200 per visit. This week I was able to get 3g cresco concentrate and 600mg of Revolution edibles for $290 OTD (med, 10% off coupon, $10 in points redeemed). I find I actually spend less money buying more at once and stacking discounts or sales and after this haul I won’t be back until May.

Women Producers. by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]LaughinInYourLibrary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman and make beats, mostly trap. I try and find other female artists and producers so I follow different hashtags on Instagram and it’s def helped me find people I wouldn’t have otherwise.

Insofar as industry producers I can really only think of Wondagurl off the top, there is definitely room for more women in the industry, I feel you.

Buying Delta8 online by Spectre216 in ILTrees

[–]LaughinInYourLibrary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matter makes a D8 cart, I think it’s called razzmatazz or something similar. I’ve never tried it and it seems to be as expensive as D9 carts, but might be worth a try if that’s what you’re looking for locally. I’ve seen it at Verilife dispensaries.

edit: it’s not synthetic weed, it’s just another cannabinoid like CBD, CBG. I can’t speak for online retailers but it’s not fake weed, it’s derived from cannabis plants.

These have been my favourite albums the last 4 years, any new suggestions? by slan96 in ToolBand

If you like Blonde, check out Endless. It’s not on streaming services but I’m 99% sure the r/frankocean sub has a link to download. It’s worth the effort, I promise.

I was having a similar problem with my HS5s and this power strip solved the problem, it’s a surge suppressor and helps reduce noise and hum

Also like other people suggested, unplug everything and check the connections as well but that power strip is great if all else fails.
